Hongdae soufflé café revisit: strawberry latte on request, Think Fruit

Back at Think Fruit when I craved a soufflé in Hongdae

Think Fruit (띵크프룻) is a soufflé café near Hongik Univ. Station, and on a day when I really wanted something fluffy, I followed my memory of an earlier visit and came back. Some days one particular dessert just takes over your brain, and this day it was a soft, tender Hongdae soufflé. Since I'd been once before, the location felt familiar, and it has become my go-to the moment I think of soufflé cake near Hongik Univ. Station!

What I ordered at Think Fruit: the mango strawberry soufflé

Soufflés are Think Fruit's signature, and because they use seasonal fruit, you get a slightly different feel with each season. The strawberries were so good last time that I went straight for the mango strawberry soufflé again. I was already excited about the fruit dessert before it even arrived.

Only milk tea on the shelf: will they make a strawberry latte on request?

The display shelf again had only milk tea, but when I asked, the staff said they could make a strawberry latte right then, so I ordered one too. Last time I came when I was too full and missed out on the strawberry latte, so I'd been lingering in front of the shelf feeling wistful before hesitantly asking. Glad I could finally have it this time, hahaha.

Think Fruit on a weekday lunch: was it crowded?

At weekday lunchtime, quite a few customers came in after I arrived, yet it wasn't as hectic as I expected. It was also the time of day when you really want a coffee, and Hongdae cafés can be chaotic no matter the hour, so I was very happy with how calm and relaxed it felt.

Seating and the floor-to-ceiling window seats at Think Fruit

The tables are neatly kept and the whole place feels bright and comfortable, making it a great Hongdae soufflé café for a short break on a lazy weekday afternoon! The floor-to-ceiling window seat with the lush green plants is popular every time I come. Personally I like seats where I can watch people walking along the street, but that one is pretty great too.

Last time I also sat at the tall window overlooking the street, and I took that seat again this time. Think Fruit brings your order to the table, so you need to tell them your table location when you order.

You can see the sky out the window from this seat, so just sitting there lifted my mood. It's a Hongik Univ. Station café that's perfect for zoning out at the window with a coffee, and the desserts and coffee are good too. On my earlier visit the cups felt a bit more unusual and eco-friendly, and this time they seemed to have changed, which was a small letdown for me. Then again, serving in reusable cups is actually more eco-friendly, haha!

How did the mango strawberry soufflé look and taste?

Think Fruit's mango strawberry soufflé comes generously topped with strawberries, mango and berries, with cream piled on top. The colors of the fruit hit me first as soon as the plate arrived, and it looks lavish and truly pretty. I'd gone for a soufflé instead of a meal, but I forgot I was hungry and just kept taking photos, hahaha. It was exactly the dessert look I'd hoped for, and it comes out just like the photo on the signboard outside.

The mango strawberry soufflé was really fluffy and soft. I loved how it split into little clouds when I cut it with a fork, and it melts gently in your mouth. It isn't just sugary; the fruit's freshness comes through too, so even though the portion is big, I finished it without feeling weighed down. The strawberries were sweet and the mango was even sweeter. The fruit was fresh, and eaten together with the soufflé, the combination was really good.

Back at Think Fruit, with a bottled strawberry latte to go

After a long gap, Think Fruit was still a place with delicious fruit and fluffy soufflés. It's a great spot for the days you crave a Hongdae soufflé. It looks pretty in photos, but eating it is even more satisfying.

After the soufflé, I left with a bottled strawberry latte too. Since the place does strawberries so well, I was curious about the drink, and I liked that the bottle is easy to carry. It was my first strawberry latte so I ordered just one, but next time I should buy several to share!
