You know those days when it's raining, the sky's all gray and murky, and suddenly you just crave the smell of grilled meat? 🌧️🥩 That was exactly the kind of day I had when I visited my all-time favorite spot — here's the review!
I heard my go-to gopchang (beef intestines) place had just launched a new "Hanton" (Korean pork) set, so I ran straight over! If they're this good at gopchang, imagine how good the pork belly and pork neck would be — I went in with sky-high expectations! 😆

Where to park at Daebak Hwangso Gopchang in Gimpo Jangi-dong
Daebak Hwangso Gopchang is directly connected to the Jangi 3 Public Parking Lot, so parking is super easy! 🚗 The Jangi-dong restaurant alley usually has tons of great places but parking is basically a battle... this is one of the best-located spots among Gimpo Jangi-dong restaurants.
Being able to walk straight in without getting soaked on a rainy day was honestly a small miracle~ If you drive around chasing good food, this kind of convenience is a huge win!

The building exterior has that classic clean, "this place is good" look! The sign reads "Daebak Hwangso Gopchang" in big letters, and there's a large banner for the newly launched Hanton Han-pan (₩45,000) that really catches your eye!

Tables and atmosphere inside Daebak Hwangso Gopchang
Inside, round BBQ tables are set with generous spacing between them! 🪑 It felt so comfortable with all that room. The tables themselves are also wide, so even with lots of dishes, side plates, and sauces piled on, nothing felt cramped — made the whole meal so relaxed!

Free side dishes: kimchi stew and scallion salad
Basic side dishes

The side dishes were set as soon as we ordered! 😲 True to a good Gimpo Jangi-dong restaurant, the kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) came out bubbling in a metal pot, spicy and deep-flavored — satisfying before the meat even hit the grill.

This place is clearly good at chive salad too — the green onion salad that came as a default side was spicy, tangy and sweet, and paired perfectly with the pork belly. 🌿

The sauce wasn't just the standard salt-oil dip either — they also gave us their special onion soy sauce, usually served with gopchang orders! Made dipping the pork belly in different sauces so much fun~ 😋
How is the 600g pork belly and neck set for 45,000 won?
Daebak Hwangso Gopchang's pork set is 600g for ₩45,000, made up of thick-cut pork belly, pork neck, and mushrooms.

The crunchy bean sprout salad and well-ripened napa cabbage kimchi grilled right on the pan were also amazing!

The grill came out pre-heated from the kitchen, so the meat cooked fast and turned out crispy outside, juicy inside — loved it!

The golden-grilled pork belly had a chewy texture with savory juices bursting in every bite, and the pork neck was never dry — smooth, tender, and clean-tasting.

Steamed egg, bibim naengmyeon and seasoned fried rice sides
🟡 Steamed egg, ₩3,000
The steamed egg puffed up soft and fluffy in the stone pot, moist and smooth like pudding — top comfort food!
🍜 Bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles), ₩6,000

The chewy, springy noodles soaked up the spicy-tangy sauce perfectly, refreshing your palate from all the grease — and wrapping it around the juicy pork belly was delicious!
🍚 Seasoned fried rice, ₩3,000

A must-do: leftover meat, kimchi, chives and seaweed flakes fried right on the grill until it crisps up like nurungji (scorched rice). Perfect finish to the meal! 🍳

🪑 And on the way out, there's even a waiting bench — a sure sign this place is a real hit!
A gopchang spot that grills pork belly just as well
I thought this place was only known for gopchang, but after trying the pork set, I fully recognize it as a great pork belly restaurant too! 👍 The spacious tables, friendly service, and the balance of meat quality and side dishes were all excellent! If you're looking for a Gimpo Jangi-dong restaurant, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try! 💯
