Why I tried a touch wash for bug splatter

I visited Autostay Anseong Seokjeong, a car wash in Seokjeong-dong, Anseong. Lately my husband comes home from work in the evening with the car plastered in dead bugs. I'd always done no-touch washes, but I figured if I could loosen the bugs a bit and wipe them off, they'd come off more easily, so this time I decided to try a touch wash!

How big is the opening discount at Autostay Anseong Seokjeong?

When I visited, Autostay Anseong Seokjeong was running an opening promotion. The one-month automatic wash subscription, already cheap, was 25% off, and the single-wash ticket was 40% off. The subscription is cheap to begin with, and with 25% off on top it was really cheap! If you want to try it, now seems like a good time!

The site is spacious and kept really tidy, so there's no risk of bumping into other cars or people, which was convenient and nice! There was also a staff member there when we went, so washing was easy!

Single ticket or monthly subscription: which is the better deal?

A single automatic wash at Autostay Anseong Seokjeong costs ₩21,000, or you can subscribe and pay just ₩48,500 for the whole month. Even if you come only three times a month, it pays off! There are so many subscriptions these days, but I think this is the first one I've seen with such good value!

How do you choose between soft-touch and no-touch?

At Autostay Anseong Seokjeong, the touch and no-touch washes share the same entrance, and once you press the button the machine smartly runs whichever wash you chose. The reason I came to Autostay was that I wanted a touch wash, and the touch here is soft-touch, unlike a regular touch wash! It sounded gentler, which put my mind at ease!

I went in with our Sportage, hoping to loosen those hard dead bugs that a no-touch wash would never remove!

First soft-touch wash on a white car: what about scratches?

It wasn't my first time at Autostay Anseong Seokjeong, but it was my first touch wash. There was no awful clattering noise, so even though it was a touch wash I felt no worry at all, which was great!

Above all, the water jets were so strong that it felt refreshing even to me! Because the car is white, I'm sensitive about scratches and had always done only no-touch washes, but I really liked the soft-touch wash and thought I should get a pass so I can keep coming back!

Free facilities to use after the wash

The automatic wash at Autostay Anseong Seokjeong didn't take very long. Afterward there's an air gun you can use, and the vacuum can be used for about 15 minutes, so feel free to make use of them!

There's also a mat washer and dryer at the back of Autostay Anseong Seokjeong, with instructions written on it, so it's easy to use. Towels for wiping tires and towels for the car's paint are provided separately, so you can use them without worry!

Finishing the leftover bug marks with spray wax and a towel

Among the products set out for use at Autostay Anseong Seokjeong was a spray wax, so I sprayed it on to dissolve the bugs a bit more and wiped them off with a towel!

It's true that human hands are still needed to get things spotless, but after a big rinse of water and one soft-touch pass at Autostay Anseong Seokjeong, it was much easier. I washed quickly and drove out with a car that looked clean as new.

Our Sportage after the wash is really clean, isn't it? I finished without much effort, so I'm so happy and refreshed 😄
