MIMI Coffee Mill (미미커피방앗간) is at 1064 Nambu-ro, Sunseong-myeon, Dangjin-si, Chungnam. It is open Monday to Saturday 10:00–21:00 (last order 20:00) and on Sundays and public holidays 10:00–20:00 (last order 19:00). The café has its own parking lot, and parking is free.

A Dangjin café to stop at after camping at Yesan Agroland

MIMI Coffee Mill was the perfect finish to our 2-night, 3-day camping trip over the long holiday. The whole family spent the golden-week holiday at the Yesan Agroland campground and came home happy. After running around in nature, packing up the tent and finishing a good lunch, a cold, sweet cup of coffee suddenly felt like a necessity.

Heading straight home felt like a shame, so we looked up the well-known Dangjin café nearby, MIMI Coffee Mill. It is very close to the Agroland campground, so it fit perfectly as a stop on the drive.

The moment we arrived, the clean but homey retro exterior caught my eye and put me in a good mood.

What are the parking and interior like at MIMI Coffee Mill?

MIMI Coffee Mill has a large private parking lot in front, and the interior is wood-toned, with mother-of-pearl chests and classic furniture. High chairs and a group table for 8 or more make it easy for families with kids or bigger groups.

As we drove in, there was a wide private lot right in front of the café, so we could park with no worries. I always struggle with tight parking when visiting popular Chungnam cafés, so MIMI Coffee Mill won me over from the very start. Inside, a cozy interior greeted us, with warm wood tones and antique mother-of-pearl chests and classic furniture blending together.

The tables are spaced generously too, so families with small children can relax comfortably.

There is also a large wooden group table for 8 or more, which looked great for family gatherings or group visits. High chairs are available as well, so parents with little ones can enjoy a cup of coffee with a bit more peace of mind.

What did we order: MIMI cream latte and desserts?

At MIMI Coffee Mill we ordered 2 signature MIMI cream lattes, a peach iced tea, castella (Japanese-style sponge cake), Dangjin strawberry jjondeugi (chewy Korean snack) and a giant krungji (crispy baked pastry). We found a seat, then went to the counter and picked out the signature items plus desserts our kid likes.

We went with 2 of the signature MIMI cream lattes, a refreshing peach iced tea, plus fluffy castella, Dangjin strawberry jjondeugi and the giant krungji.

When it all arrived neatly on a tray, I couldn't help smiling. The MIMI cream latte, the café's signature, is apparently a proven drink that has sold more than 80,000 cups.

In the warmer season, the MIMI cream latte is topped with nutty black sesame cream. With each sip, the thick, rich cream and the bittersweet espresso blended perfectly. It isn't harsh at all, with a pleasant nuttiness and sweetness filling your mouth, and I understood right away why everyone loves it.

The peach iced tea and giant krungji our kid loved

The peach iced tea is packed with chewy nata de coco coconut jelly bits, and our kid happily picked them out through the straw and enjoyed every one.

The giant krungji we had for dessert was crispy with a sweet, nutty flavor that stood out, and together with the soft castella and the homey Dangjin strawberry jjondeugi, it made for a very happy mouth. As you'd expect from a famous Dangjin café, the quality of the side desserts was excellent, not just the drinks.

Behind MIMI Coffee Mill is a wide lawn garden with white outdoor tables and string lights. After finishing our drinks and desserts, we went out to the back of the café and found a spacious, atmospheric lawn garden.

A sweet garland banner reading "Smile today too" (오늘도 웃어요) sways in the wind, and it's a great spot for taking cute snapshots with your kid.

A Chungnam café that melted away the camping fatigue: 200% I'd return

Chatting leisurely in the outdoor breeze under a clear holiday sky, I felt the tiredness of 2 nights of camping melt away. Excellent signature drinks, generous and tasty desserts made with local specialties, and even the ice cream from the review event! Add friendly staff, roomy parking and a garden full of atmosphere, and this was a charming place with nothing lacking.

If you're planning a drive around Dangjin or Yesan Agroland, or looking for a nice Chungnam café where the whole family can relax, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting MIMI Coffee Mill without hesitation.
