Gimpo castella bakery: cream on the side, moist after 3 days, Jinsim

Out of nowhere I was craving something fluffy and sweet. I was torn between buying a cake or going for bread, and while searching I found Jinsim Castella (진심카스테라)!

It's close to Gurae Station and I heard the castella is huge, so I got curious and went myself, haha. It seems people also go there for group orders from a Gurae-dong bakery in Gimpo, like kids' snacks or company events~!!

There were more whipped cream flavors than I expected, so I agonized over which combo to get for ages ㅠㅠ The shop isn't big, but it has a warm wood-tone feel, and most people just take their order to go~!!

You can pay with Gimpo Pay or Naver Pay too, which made paying easy haha. Can you see the freshly baked castellas over there~!? Kyaa~!! They are seriously huge. Fresh out of the oven...! The smell is incredible..><

Since it was my first visit, I wanted to try the most basic flavors first, so I ordered the original Jinsim castella with the plain whipped cream. At first I wondered whether to have the cream spread inside the castella.

I was worried the bread would get soggy on the way home, and I wanted to taste it plain first!! I asked if they could pack the cream separately, and they kindly said yes.

According to the shop's notice, Jinsim castella keeps for up to 6 days in the fridge and 30 days in the freezer. I kept mine refrigerated and tried it again 3 days later, and there was almost no difference from the first time.

I had it with a basic coffee :D Coffee with castella is the perfect combo~!! But it was honestly so big that I wondered, "Can I really finish all this?" The storage info is written in the shop, so that was reassuring.
