Free kids' vitamins at Sunae Station kalguksu spot: Myeongyeok Sunae
In short
Myeongyeok Bundang Sunae is a chicken kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and chicken tenderloin katsu restaurant on the 1st floor of the Hanssem building in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, a 4-minute walk from Sunae Station. Two adults and one child ordered the meat-bomb naengmyeon with a 2-piece chicken tenderloin katsu set, a Western-style chicken tenderloin katsu, and half-chicken kalguksu, and the table came with kids' tableware, mini seaweed and two free Pororo vitamins. The chicken tenderloin katsu, crisp outside and soft inside, was the star of the meal at Myeongyeok Bundang Sunae.

I ate kalguksu and chicken tenderloin katsu near Sunae Station in Bundang with my kid, and the chicken tenderloin katsu at Myeongyeok was seriously delicious.

Myeongyeok is 4 minutes from Sunae Station in the Hanssem building, and parking was plenty and convenient. I really love chicken kalguksu, and besides the kalguksu they had all kinds of menu items — chicken tenderloin katsu, even naengmyeon.

What two adults and one child ordered
We ordered three things: the meat-bomb naengmyeon + chicken tenderloin katsu 2p set, the Western-style chicken tenderloin katsu, and the half-chicken kalguksu. It was just the right amount for two adults and one kid.
Menu: meat-bomb naengmyeon + chicken tenderloin katsu 2p / Western-style chicken tenderloin katsu / half-chicken kalguksu. We ordered cool naengmyeon and warm half-chicken kalguksu along with the Western-style chicken tenderloin katsu, and two adults and one kid shared it all.

Going with kids: free Pororo vitamins and kids' tableware
They gave us kids' tableware and mini seaweed, and there was even a kids' vitamin on the menu haha. It's free but so cute I had to order it — we got two Pororo vitamins.

The self-serve bar and warm broth
The self-serve bar had unlimited side dishes and rice, and there was even warm broth!

The warm broth was completely hot and had a deep, bone-broth-like flavor(?). Taking a sip of it while eating the cool naengmyeon gave you cold and warm at the same time in your stomach, doubling the flavor haha.

What does the meat-bomb naengmyeon taste like?
Myeongyeok's meat-bomb naengmyeon is exactly as the name says — naengmyeon loaded with meat like a bomb. The seasoning was already well balanced, so I didn't even need to add vinegar.
First, the meat-bomb naengmyeon — cool autumn was clearly on its way, but it suddenly got hot again, so this was exactly what I needed. True to its name, it's packed with so much meat that eating it alone feels like enough protein.
The seasoning was better than expected, so it was fine without adding vinegar separately — taste it first and add as you like!! The noodles were also nice and chewy, great wrapped up with kimchi. A really good meat naengmyeon.

Chicken tenderloin katsu served Western-style with morning bread and salad
The chicken tenderloin katsu — both the 2 pieces that came in the set and the single Western-style order — comes with morning bread and salad. The composition is the same, just more of it in the single order.
On top of that, the chicken tenderloin katsu we ordered as a set also came as 2 pieces. It came with morning bread and salad, and my husband said the moment he saw it, 'this is a Gunderella' haha. That's apparently a thing — I didn't know.

I also ordered the chicken tenderloin katsu to share with my kid, and the composition is exactly the same — of course the katsu-only order has more. But the chicken tenderloin katsu is genuinely so delicious. Crispy outside, really soft inside, and it pairs so well with the sweet sauce that drizzles over each bite. It's so soft it keeps going down easily, and the sauce is sweet but also savory, so dipping it deep is heavenly.

It only took a few strokes of the knife to slice through — really soft, but the outside had crunch and good texture too. I ordered it for my kid but couldn't hold back and ended up eating half of it myself...
The Gunderella my husband made haha — putting salad and sauce-dipped chicken tenderloin katsu into the morning bread, I get why it's called that. But it's so good... ㅠㅠㅠ I genuinely want to eat that chicken tenderloin katsu again right now.

Half-chicken kalguksu and how to eat it with perilla oil sauce
Myeongyeok's half-chicken kalguksu really has half a chicken in it, and the broth is rich. I'd recommend not stirring in the chili paste from the start — taste the broth first, then add it partway through.
The half-chicken kalguksu has a rich broth. And it really has half a chicken in it, with substantial meat.

The meat was soft too, so pulling it all apart and slurping it up with the noodles felt somehow comforting to the stomach. But since I'm addicted to dopamine, I usually stir in a ton of the chili paste — though the broth alone is already rich and savory and delicious, so I'd recommend drinking the plain broth first, then adding the chili paste partway through.

A sauce came alongside it too — perilla oil with what looked like whole grain mustard-ish bits and sesame seeds. There's a lot of oil, so you need to dip it deep to also get the sauce underneath.
You're actually supposed to dip the noodles into it and mix them for a nutty flavor, but I forgot the instructions and just kept dipping the chicken thigh meat — when I finally dipped the noodles in lightly, the nuttiness was next level. When you have the half-chicken kalguksu, make sure to dip the noodles into the perilla oil sauce and mix them in.

Is Myeongyeok Bundang Sunae worth a visit?
From the half-chicken kalguksu to the chicken tenderloin katsu to the meat-bomb naengmyeon, we polished off everything completely. I come to Sunae often, and it's amazing I never knew about this place — the kalguksu and chicken katsu are genuinely excellent. It's good value too, so I'd guess it's popular with students and office workers at lunchtime!
