Dangsan Station bossam restaurant, dinner after break time: Cheongun
In short
Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch (청운보쌈 당산점) is a bossam (boiled pork wrap) restaurant near Exit 13 of Dangsan Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, serving jjukkumi (baby octopus), bossam and kalguksu (knife-cut noodles). After stopping at a nearby café, the writer and a companion had dinner just after break time and shared the five-layer pork bossam small set with tray makguksu (buckwheat noodles) for ₩35,000. Despite being sensitive to the smell of pork, the writer found the bossam fine and especially liked the dried radish. Verdict: Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch is a solid bossam choice near Dangsan Station, with a spacious hall and patio seating, though bugs coming in through the open door and the floor staff's service were letdowns.

Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch (청운보쌈 당산점) is a bossam restaurant near Dangsan Station where you can get jjukkumi (baby octopus), bossam (boiled pork wraps) and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) all in one place. The small bossam set (with makguksu, cold buckwheat noodles) is a good size for two :) Here's my honest review!

In the evening it's set up patio-style like this~

I'd stopped by a nearby café earlier and then came here for dinner. There are lots of pretty cafés around Dangsan Station, so it's a good combo!
Patio seating and indoor atmosphere at Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch
With the weather turning cool, Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch has set up patio-style tables outside, and the indoor hall is huge too. One letdown: the door is left open, so bugs fly around.

Maybe because the weather has gotten cooler lately, they've arranged the tables outside patio-style! I went right after break time, and customers started coming in around the time I was leaving. Eating outside in weather like this seems like it would be such a great vibe! The one downside is that they leave the door open, so bugs were flying around :(

Most of all, the inside is really spacious! It's big indoors and there are seats outside too, so it feels even bigger! It's a great Dangsan Station bossam spot for a group dinner too :)
Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch menu and set noodle choices
The menu is posted big on the wall, and you can also check it at the table before ordering. When you order bossam, you can choose either clam kalguksu or tray noodles, and spicy kalguksu costs ₩5,000 extra.

I debated between the five-layer pork and the jjukkumi bossam, and went with the small five-layer pork set, haha. With a bossam order you can pick clam kalguksu or tray noodles, and this time I went with the sweet-and-sour tray noodles :)

There's also a review event: write a receipt review and you get a rice ball! Go for it if you're interested. And if the meat gets cold, just tell them and they'll reheat it for you, so feel free to ask :)

You can choose spicy kalguksu too, but it's ₩5,000 extra!
Basic side dishes at Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch
The basic side dishes aren't many in number. Since bossam comes with all kinds of other things, I barely touched them.

That's about it for the basic sides! There aren't many, but honestly when you're eating bossam, so many other things come out that I didn't reach for them much!
Five-layer pork small set: fine even if you're sensitive to gamey smell?
The five-layer pork small set at Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch has a surprisingly generous amount of pork, plus plenty of cabbage and lettuce. Even the writer, who's sensitive to pork smell, ate it fine; as the meat cooled it seemed to smell a little, so asking for a reheat is a good idea.

This is how it comes when you order the five-layer pork! There's a surprising amount of pork, and the dried radish (mumallaengi) was delicious! The cabbage and lettuce also came in generous amounts, so I never felt short when making wraps :)
The ssamjang-style sauce in the middle? It went so well with everything that I kept reaching for it. My sense of smell is sensitive and I can't eat pork at all if it has a gamey smell, but this was fine! It did seem to get a slight smell once the meat cooled down over time, but asking them to reheat it should fix that?!

I wrapped it in both cabbage and lettuce and it was so good. Also, I'm basically a self-proclaimed (and friend-proclaimed) kimchi sommelier, haha, and this dried radish was delicious. Still, it's pork belly and shoulder, so when it starts feeling a l-little greasy..? Just have some of the tray makguksu.
How is the tray makguksu at Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch?
The tray makguksu at Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch comes with disposable gloves on top, and the vegetables are served separately, so you have to mix carefully to avoid spilling. It's sweet and sour with a truly generous amount of vegetables, which cuts the richness of the five-layer pork.

Disposable gloves came on top :) The vegetables are served separately, so you have to mix it carefully so nothing spills!

It looks a bit, well, so-so? But it tastes good..haha. There was already a lot of cabbage and lettuce, and the makguksu has a really,,, huge amount of vegetables too ^_^.. If you don't usually eat many vegetables? You'll get plenty in….haha..

The lettuce is cut into big pieces, so just pile it on like this~
Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch as a Dangsan Station bossam restaurant: verdict
The writer's conclusion is that Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch is a decent option if you're looking for bossam near Dangsan Station. The letdown was that the hall staff weren't all that friendly.
I didn't know this, but there are really a lot of bossam and jokbal (braised pig's trotters) places around Dangsan. If you're looking for a good bossam spot near Dangsan Station, Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch seems like a fine choice. It's just that the staff in the hall weren't exactly friendly..^^ which was a bit of a shame :( Still, I had a tasty meal!
