Korean BBQ with private rooms for 2–16 near Yeouido Station: Yuk Lab

I was visiting around Yeouido and looking for good meat, and heard there was a private-room restaurant that's great for talking, so I went to Yuk Lab Yeouido (육랩 여의도점). If you're looking for a room-style pub and BBQ place near Yeouido Station, I recommend Yuk Lab Yeouido!

How to get to Yuk Lab Yeouido and where to park

Yuk Lab Yeouido is one minute from Yeouido Station Exit 5, on the 2nd floor of the Yeouido Jonghap Sangga (a multi-store commercial complex) right in front of it.

If you drive, park at the Jonghap Sangga and come in through the back door.

It's a complex, so there are tons of shops, but just look for the signs up above. Every restaurant there felt like a legit office-worker favorite around Yeouido Station.

Even among all that, Yuk Lab has a hip, modern black-toned look, so it feels upscale and right for company dinners, dates and work gatherings!!

How many people fit in a Yuk Lab Yeouido private room?

Every table at Yuk Lab Yeouido is a room, and rooms fit 2 to 16 people. So I fully recommend it if you're looking for a private-room pub near Yeouido Station. Perfect for talking and drinking in private!

Rooms are numbered like this, and each room is a different size. The doors close completely, so it suits dates, company dinners, family gatherings and wedding invitation gatherings (cheongmo) perfectly haha

Yuk Lab Set: what's included and the price

Yuk Lab Yeouido also sells everything à la carte, but I wanted to try a bit of everything, so I ordered the set. It works out about ₩20,000 cheaper!!!

• Yuk Lab Set ₩67,000: jingalbisal (beef short rib meat) 120g + lamb ribs 230g + tosisal (chuck flap) 120g, 3 pieces of 10-second cheese + doenjang stew
• Steamed egg ₩3,900

They reportedly run their own distribution company, so you get high-quality meat at a good price. And it's beef, not pork! Two people ate until stuffed, with a side and dessert included, for the ₩60,000s, which is a really good value!

Jingalbisal, tosisal or lamb ribs: which cut wins?

Each cut in the set is such good quality, with a rich meaty aroma.. From left to right: jingalbisal, tosisal, lamb ribs. My top pick was the tosisal, which had the strongest meaty aroma!

Side dishes and individual dipping sauces at Yuk Lab Yeouido

The side dishes at Yuk Lab Yeouido are varied and went so well with the meat. The seasoning was spot on haha Plus, the sauces and small plates are individual, so it's hygienic and convenient to eat. I liked that!

What does the Yuk Lab Set's doenjang stew taste like?

The Yuk Lab Set comes with cheese and doenjang stew (fermented soybean paste stew), so if you like extras alongside your meat, I recommend the set.

The stew tastes somewhere between cheonggukjang (strong fermented soybean stew) and regular doenjang stew. My friend said it was even better and dug in. Check it against your own taste! Also, I added the steamed egg haha

Do the staff at Yuk Lab Yeouido grill the meat for you?

It's a charcoal-grill place, so of course the meat is legit good..

They don't grill every cut, but the staff grill the first meat at the initial setup, and they come over to trim and grill the lamb too..! That's enough to count as a place that grills for you.. Good beef just gets a quick flip on the grill and you eat it right away, so there's hardly anything to grill anyway,,,

Maybe because the lamb ribs come from young lamb with halal certification, they were even more tender and full of fat! A whole different level from frozen lamb ribs.

Verdict: is Yuk Lab Yeouido good for a group dinner?

In crowded Yeouido, Yuk Lab Yeouido was a satisfying room-style pub where you can focus on the meat and conversation in private. With its upscale interior and good-value set menu, I'd go back whenever I'm craving beef and lamb!
