Hwagok sashimi date: small platter & squid fritters, Eochongye 1beonji

Eochongye 1beonji (어촌계1번지) is a sashimi restaurant with about 100 menu items near Exit 7 of Hwagok Station in Gangseo, Seoul. The writer and her boyfriend ordered a small seasonal sashimi platter, sushi rice and half-and-half squid and shrimp fritters, and enjoyed the texture of the flounder, plaice and salmon, the homestyle seaweed soup and squid fritters that beat expectations. With a clean dining room and generous portions, Eochongye 1beonji is a safe Hwagok-dong sashimi pick whether you go with a partner or family.

Dangsan Station pizza pub for an easy second round: Long Time No See

Long Time No See Dangsan Branch is a pizza and self-tap beer pub on the 2nd floor near Exit 12 of Dangsan Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. On a second round after dinner, the writer used a wristband tag to pour as much as they wanted from 29 beers. They also ate the 'Pogeunhan Neoui Pumsok' (포근한 너의 품속) potato pizza with mashed potato on 72-hour aged dough, plus the set chicken. Because you control how much beer you pour, Long Time No See Dangsan Branch is an easy pizza-and-beer stop near Dangsan Station, even when you're already full.

Dangsan Station offal BBQ for a wedding invitation dinner: Chodaechang

Chodaechang Dangsan Station is a beef tripe and gopchang (intestine) BBQ restaurant on the 2nd floor right by Exit 11 of Dangsan Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. For a dinner with university friends to hand out wedding invitations, the writer ordered Mixed Grill A (daechang, teukyang, makchang and beef heart), extra gopchang, kimchi-mari guksu (cold kimchi noodles), doenjang sulbap (soybean paste stew with rice) and Kirin draft beer. Staff grilled everything to the end and the beef heart had no gamey smell, so even first-timers left happy, making Chodaechang Dangsan Station a solid spot for a group get-together.

Mia-sageori low-sugar café gifts for a diabetic dad: Dangara Gwajajeom

Dangara Gwajajeom (당가라과자점) is a sugar-free, gluten-free, low-sugar bake shop and café at Mia-sageori in Gangbuk, Seoul. On a diet ahead of her wedding, the writer had an iced latte and a fig cream cheese financier at Dangara Gwajajeom, had a gift box packed for her diabetic dad and browsed the little goods shop behind the building. Dangara Gwajajeom is a good Mia-sageori stop when you crave dessert on a diet or need a gift for a parent with diabetes.

Gongdeok bakery: sister-in-law gift in basic wrap, Fluffy Bake Shop

Fluffy Bake Shop is a baked-goods bakery café near Exit 2 of Gongdeok Station in Mapo, Seoul. The writer browsed the madeleines, financiers and canelés that Fluffy Bake Shop says it bakes every morning with French AOP Lescure butter, then bought a gift in the basic wrapping for a sister-in-law who loves desserts. For an easy dessert gift near Gongdeok Station, Fluffy Bake Shop is a good fit.
