Paju Yadang raw beef bar's 5-table beef shank sashimi: Yukhoe Maltuout
In short
Yukhoe Maltuout Paju Yadang Branch is a fresh yukhoe (Korean raw beef) bar on the Yadang Station bar street in Paju, Gyeonggi. We ordered the beef shank sashimi, limited to 5 tables a day, and the signature beef sushi, then finished with a spicy beef ramyeon that came free through a Naver event. With unlimited liver and tripe refills and clean-tasting hanwoo cow beef, Yukhoe Maltuout kept us reaching for more soju.

Hey everyone. Came here for some yukhoe (raw beef) sashimi. I was looking for a Yadang bar with killer snacks and found Yukhoe Maltuout. Heard their fresh beef shank sashimi is amazing, so come have a bite with me. Right this way~
Getting to Yukhoe Maltuout Paju Yadang Branch
Taking the subway is the easiest way to get to Yukhoe Maltuout today. It's just a short walk from the Yadang bar street, so keep that in mind when you visit.
Ordering the beef shank sashimi, limited to 5 tables a day
Since I was at a Yadang bar, I had to order some proper snacks. I ordered the beef shank sashimi, limited to 5 tables a day. Check out the clip for details.

Arrived at Yukhoe Maltuout. It's known as a place with delicious hanwoo (Korean beef) yukhoe. Usually people come here as a second stop when eating yukhoe, but today I visited as the first stop. It's the one and only fresh yukhoe specialty spot on the Yadang bar street.

Izakaya vibes, perfect for a date
The atmosphere was great and had plenty of izakaya vibes, perfect for a date. Even though I came almost right at opening, there were already a few tables of guests.

Side dishes and porridge, unlimited liver and tripe refills
After ordering, they bring out side dishes and porridge while you wait. Nice and light to enjoy as an appetizer. Liver and tripe are also unlimited refills, and they kept bringing more. The liver especially was chewy and melted in my mouth like cheese. Dip it in the sesame oil sauce and take a bite.

How was the beef shank sashimi?
The beef shank sashimi arrived. I've eaten out a lot, but this was my first time having the shank cut served as sashimi. Seeing it plated neatly, filling the whole tray, already got me excited. The freshness was striking just to look at.

When they refilled the liver and tripe, they also brought minari (water dropwort) salad. Wrapping it together, the distinctive fragrance hits your nose, and the savory, clean taste doubles.
See how glossy it looks? Since it's hanwoo cow beef that's never been frozen, the quality is on a different level from other yukhoe places. The chewy, slightly crisp texture was outstanding.

It's tasty on its own, but also great dipped in the special sauce or sesame oil sauce. Dip it in the sauce, top with a slice of pear, and take a bite — you'll nod without even meaning to. No gamy or fishy smell at all, just clean flavor, so I could drink happily.

They also give you seaweed separately, which turned out to be a subtle highlight. Adding that crispy texture on top of the vivid red sashimi — how could it not taste good! It was the kind of flavor that kept making me want soju. Clean soju really pairs well with raw dishes like this.

The signature side dish: beef sushi
Next, let's try the beef sushi. The trick to enjoying beef sushi well is actually really simple — the beef on top has to be delicious! The fluffy rice grains blended harmoniously with the smoky char of the beef. There's a reason it's Yukhoe Maltuout's signature side dish.

The special sauce was drizzled on thick, and the savory flavor was no joke. Crisp shredded onion on top added even more variety. The fragrant onion gave a clear accent without any sharp bite. Have a bite too.

Save the Naver-event spicy beef ramyeon for last
Through Yukhoe Maltuout Yadang's Naver event, they gave me a complimentary spicy beef ramyeon. It was loaded with quite a lot of beef topping. On top of that, fragrant scallions and mushroom topping! It was a dish that both went with the drinks and cured the hangover at the same time.

I recommend definitely ordering the spicy beef ramyeon at the end. Spicy and sharp, exactly my style. If you're looking for a Yadang bar with delicious yukhoe, go visit Yukhoe Maltuout. The beef shank sashimi is that good. That's it for me!
