Gongdeok diet salad shop, 67g-protein tofu noodle box: Why Starve

Let me introduce Why Starve, a place that sells delicious salads. It's not easy to hit your macros at every meal, but this is a great spot to come to when meal prep feels like too much work, or when you just want something delicious that still fits your diet.

What kind of place is Why Starve Diet Gongdeok?

The shop's name is WHY STARVE, meaning you don't have to starve to be healthy — you can eat a delicious, balanced meal instead. These days it feels like a lot of people either starve themselves outright for weight loss or eat food with zero macro balance at all. Why Starve serves salads that are both tasty and healthy!

How to get to Why Starve Diet from Gongdeok Station Exit 2

Why Starve Diet Gongdeok Main Branch is in the underground mall of Lotte Castle President, connected to Exit 2 of Gongdeok Station. The address is B131, B1F, Lotte Castle President, 109 Mapo-daero, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea.

When I first went down into the underground mall, I walked further inside — don't do that. Once you enter, head toward the Subway sandwich shop you'll see right there. It's right near it.

Opening hours and break time

Why Starve Diet Gongdeok Main Branch is open 10:00–22:00, with last order at 21:30. Thursdays and Sundays have a break time from 15:00 to 16:00. I visited around 4:30pm and there were no other customers — the staff member was busy prepping delivery orders. It's also on Baemin (Korea's delivery app), so ordering delivery is an option too!

Inside the shop and seats for solo diners

The shop is a small, cutely decorated space. The posters stuck up here and there were adorable! There are solo dining tables too, so you can enjoy your food without feeling awkward eating alone.

Menu, kiosk ordering and prices

You order through the kiosk. The menu is really varied! It seems like it'd be fun to try something new every time. I went with the chicken tofu noodle protein box, which has a whopping 67g of protein. You also choose a sauce when ordering — I went with honey mustard.

How did the 67g-protein chicken tofu noodle box taste?

I picked Why Starve's chicken tofu noodle protein box because it had the highest protein content and looked delicious too — and it really was...

• The meat was tender
• The tofu noodles weren't chewy or tough
• All the vegetables were fresh
• The sauce was mixed in well

I ate it up so happily. And it came out in under 5 minutes from when I ordered!!!!!

Final verdict: who Why Starve Diet Gongdeok is for

I went looking for a meal that was both tasty and healthy, and the food turned out to be really filling and delicious. Beyond chicken, there's steak, salmon, smoked duck, rice bowls, and so many other options that I want to come back and try more of the menu :) The location is great too, so this is a place I'd recommend.
