I used to come to Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch (카츠몬스터 연신내점) all the time for solo lunches in Yeonsinnae, and this time I went with my boyfriend!!! I like tonkatsu too, but he really loves it, so I'm sharing this one... ♡

Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch is at 4-1 Yeonseo-ro 28-gil, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul (1st floor), 92 m from Exit 4 of Yeonsinnae Station. It's open daily 10:00-21:00, with a break from 15:00 to 16:00 and last order at 20:15.

🚗 No parking! Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch is right by Yeonsinnae Station and easy to reach, so I recommend taking the bus or subway.

The entrance isn't on the chaotic main street but in the alley behind the KFC, so it's not crowded and it's quiet, which made it great for eating alone.

When you walk into Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch, you order right away at a kiosk. A Naver review event is also running, so keep that in mind.

There were other guests inside, so I couldn't photograph the next table. Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch is a cozy shop with two tables and a counter bar (dacchi). Every table is set with sauce, wasabi and salt.

The menu at Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch includes loin katsu (ro-seu-katsu), tenderloin katsu (hire katsu), cheese katsu, special loin katsu, assorted, mixed, triple, set menus, cold soba, cold udon, katsuo udon (bonito-broth udon), spicy chicken curry rice bowl, spicy chicken curry udon, and Cheongyang chili katsu balls... and more.

The two of us ordered the two-person set (2 tonkatsu + noodle dish) with loin katsu, cheese katsu and cold udon.

Loin katsu: crispy and neatly served

Here's the loin katsu (pork loin cutlet) my boyfriend ordered. The cutlet looked so crispy and delicious. The cabbage, side dishes and rice were all arranged so neatly.

I liked that you can pour the salad dressing on as you like. The sauce was really good too.

How big is the cold udon in the Katsu Monster set?

The cold udon that came with the two-person set at Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch was huge. I thought it was a regular standalone udon!! The noodles were chewy, springy and delicious. The cold broth was good too. It's refreshing, the kind of thing that cures a hangover.

You can catch a glimpse of the kitchen at Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch, and I happened to see them trimming chilled pork. The pork was a fresh pink color, and the cutlets were being prepared cleanly.

Thick tonkatsu with mustard on the side, on request

See how thick the cutlet is..? We love mustard, so we asked Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch for some on the side and dipped away. This is heaven,,,, I tried my boyfriend's loin katsu too, and it was moist and crispy, so good.

Look at my cheese tonkatsu, hehehe, it's completely stuffed with cheese. So rich! Looking at the photo makes me want it again. You might think lots of cheese gets greasy, but it was mild and delicious!!

Is Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae good for solo diners or pairs?

I liked that at Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch we could order a set and share it. If you're looking for a solo meal or lunch spot in Yeonsinnae, I recommend Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch!!

They also do delivery, but the delivery drivers don't come inside; there's a separate delivery box outside, so it stays quiet and you can eat in peace. It was so comfortable!! If you're looking for proper tonkatsu in Yeonsinnae, definitely stop by!!
