Daejeon galbi restaurant: stone galbi set with 3-crab stew, Idobonga

Today I'm sharing Idobonga, a great place near Seodaejeon Station to bring your parents! It's a regular spot of mine, and I've lost count of how many times I've been. I've already enjoyed the galbitang (short rib soup) and galbijjim (braised short ribs) here, so I wasn't worried about a miss at all, haha. I came in feeling pretty relaxed! Idobonga opening hours and break time

Idobonga is open every day from 11:00 to 21:00, with a break from 15:00 to 17:00 and last order at 20:30.

How do you get to Idobonga from Seodaejeon Station?

Idobonga is on the 2nd floor of the Sky Palace building, right in front of Seodaejeon Station, so it was super easy to find. It's also very close to Seodaejeon Intersection Station and Oryong Station, so it's easy to drop by~ You go straight in by escalator!

Idobonga's atmosphere: is it good for group gatherings?

The restaurant is spacious and clean overall✨ The tables are nicely spaced and the window view is good. The space is so comfortable that it looked great for group gatherings like company dinners or family meals! The staff were really kind too, so the meal felt pleasant from the moment we walked in, haha.

Charging cables, takeout discount, membership and free iced americano

There are loads of phone charging cables at the entrance, and they even hand you tissues when you use the building's restroom, what a thoughtful touch! There's also a takeout discount on galbitang, so take note if you'd like to eat at home~ There are membership point rewards too, so regulars might want to make use of them.

The self-serve bar was kept very clean, and the kimchi and seokbakji (cubed radish kimchi) were fresh, which I loved! Also, dining in gets you a free iced americano, so if you need a caffeine fix, come charge up~

How is Idobonga's menu organized?

The main menu has lots of galbi dishes: stone galbi set, scallion bulgogi (marinated beef), galbijjim, spicy galbijjim and Sura galbi hot pot. For lighter meals there were galbitang, abalone galbitang, yukhoe bibimbap (raw beef rice bowl), brisket bibimbap and mountain vegetable bibimbap. There were also yukhoe, cold pork slices and acorn jelly salad, so the menu is quite rich and you can pick whatever suits your taste!

Receipt review event: ice cream after the meal

Idobonga was running quite a few events too! If you write a Naver receipt review, you can choose between 2 ice creams, 1,500 points, or ₩1,000 cash. We joined in and had ice cream after the meal. There was a nice variety of tasty kinds, so we finished on a really happy note💕🍦

Idobonga stone galbi set for two: side dishes and taste

At Idobonga we ordered the stone galbi set for two and a bowl of steamed rice.

The side dishes came out in a row right after we ordered! Wrap vegetables, dried radish strips, pickled garlic, pickled onion, kimchi and seokbakji, braised lotus root, sausage, stir-fried anchovies, corn salad, zucchini salad and more. Such a varied, generous spread, oh my. It's a perfect lineup for bringing older family members.

The salty-sweet stone galbi came out quickly too✨ It looked so mouthwatering, I loved it! The sweet-salty sauce soaked well into the meat and the texture was really tender, a taste anyone of any age would like😋❤️ I wrapped it up in lettuce too, and with kimchi on top it just kept going down… haha.

The seafood doenjang stew that comes standard, with three crabs

One of my favorite things about Idobonga‼️ It was great that the stone galbi set comes with doenjang stew as standard, but it's a seafood doenjang stew!! It has 3 crabs and tons of ingredients, so I wondered if this was really just a freebie, lol. The broth was rich and went so well with the stone galbi that it made a hearty combination👍

Why this regular keeps coming back

Another hearty meal today, haha. Idobonga has great quality all around, from the taste of the food to every single side dish and even the standard stew. A real can't-go-wrong gem!
