Haekbap Amsa (핵밥 암사점) is a rice bowl and ramen restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building right in front of Amsa Station in Gangdong, Seoul. The writer visited with a child and ordered Set 2 (marinated pork rib rice bowl plus tonkotsu ramen, with cheese rice cake) and a Western-style giant pork cutlet (tonkatsu), and found the rich tonkotsu broth, the smoky pork rib bowl and the thick cutlet all satisfying. With baby chairs and children's tableware as well as solo-friendly seating, Haekbap Amsa is an easy everyday meal spot in Amsa-dong for families and solo diners alike.

Guui East Pole café: Korean melon smoothie & cheesecake, Center Coffee

Center Coffee Guui East Pole is a café on the B1 level of the East Pole mall in Guui, Gwangjin, Seoul, across from Dimdim Sum. On a second visit, the writer ordered the branch-only chamoe (Korean melon) yogurt smoothie, a Chicago cheesecake and a plain scone served with strawberry jam. The drinks and desserts were as good as on the first visit, making Center Coffee Guui East Pole a good place to rest after shopping or a meal at East Pole.

Korean BBQ in Cheonan with kids' zone and 500g half pig: Hanmaeum

Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Cheonan Tongjeong (한마음정육식당 천안통정점) is a butcher-style Korean BBQ restaurant serving aged pork and beef on Tongjeong 5-ro in Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province. A family staying at Sangnok Resort in Cheonan had the 500g half-pig set with five cuts for dinner and enjoyed the kids' zone, the generous hanjeongsik-style side dishes and the jjolmyeon (chewy noodles) served with shredded scallion salad. For a family Korean BBQ dinner with children in Cheonan, Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Cheonan Tongjeong is a good fit.
