Cheonan burger shop: Avocado Single & Downtown Double, Downtown Burger

Where do you go in Cheonan when you want a handmade burger~? When I'm craving a rich, meaty patty, Downtown Burger always comes to mind haha. This time I visited the branch at Shinsegae Department Store Cheonan-Asan~! It's a famous burger brand from Seoul, so it's nice to find it in Cheonan too. If you love avocado burgers, you've probably heard of it at least once, right~? Here's my detailed review of what I ate!

Where is Downtown Burger Cheonan-Asan, and how is the parking?

Downtown Burger Shinsegae Department Store Cheonan-Asan is in the 4th-floor food court of Building B at Shinsegae Department Store in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan, and you can park in the department store lot. It is open daily 10:30-20:30.

It's fairly close to Cheonanasan Station and sits in the middle of the Sinbu-dong commercial area, so access is good~! It's a decent spot for a meal after shopping or a movie. The department store has a big parking lot, so driving was convenient too. Not having to worry about parking was a plus haha

What's the atmosphere like inside Downtown Burger Cheonan-Asan?

The shop has clean interiors with warm wood tones, and it works for eating solo, meeting friends or a date. Downtown Burger's signature vibe really comes through~! It felt easy and relaxed for a meal.

The seating is roomier than I expected, so if you avoid lunchtime you can eat fairly comfortably. Since burgers are cooked to order, it was also fun to look around the shop while waiting for the food haha

When you finish, just return your tray yourself next to the counter~!

What's on the Downtown Burger menu?

There's quite a variety of burgers, starting with the signature Downtown Burger, plus the Avocado Burger, Bacon Cheese Burger and Garlic Butter Burger. Besides burgers, there are sides like fries, cheese fries and drinks, so it's easy to enjoy a set-style meal.

You can also customize with extra patties or extra cheese, so you can order it the way you like. This time we ordered an Avocado Burger Single and a Downtown Double~!

Avocado Burger and Downtown Double: how are they for two?

With the Avocado Burger Single, Downtown Double and fries all on one table, it was more generous than I expected, just right for two to share haha. The burgers are fairly hefty, as you'd expect from a handmade burger place, so my excitement went up from the moment I took photos.

The burger with green avocado next to the Downtown burger with its thick patty looked colorful and appetizing~! With the fries on the side, it was a look that said I'm really eating today haha

For burger lovers, just seeing the full spread would make you happy, and it really was a great combo for two people to share~!

Downtown Burger Avocado Burger Single

The Avocado Burger Single has plenty of avocado, and you feel the soft texture the moment you take a bite. The green avocado piled in caught my eye right away haha

The juicy patty and creamy avocado go well together, so it wasn't heavy to eat. The vegetables and sauce were nicely balanced, so it finished clean without feeling greasy. If you like avocado, you'll probably be very satisfied with this one~!

Downtown Double

The Downtown Double has two patties, so it's juicy with a rich beef flavor, and I recommend it to meat lovers. With two patties it definitely has presence, and the height alone is overwhelming haha (lol)

Even with two patties it wasn't too salty or heavy, and the cheese and sauce blended well, so I enjoyed it to the end. I could see why burger fans seek out Downtown Burger. If you like meat, I recommend the Double haha

Downtown Burger fries

The fries were crispy outside and fluffy inside, the kind of side you keep reaching for. Burgers alone can feel a little lacking, but with fries it was much more filling. They're good dipped in ketchup and fine on their own. These are great fries..!!

Self-serve drink refills

Drinks at Downtown Burger Cheonan-Asan are self-serve, so you can grab as much as you like, which was convenient. When eating a burger you crave a soda, so free refills were nice. It also did a good job of cleansing the palate after the rich handmade burger flavor haha

Reservations and events at Downtown Burger Cheonan-Asan?

Most people just walk in rather than reserve, and weekends and lunchtime get busy, so I recommend leaving yourself some time. There was also a receipt review event~! They were giving a corn salad for writing a receipt review, so be sure to join in if you visit haha

Overall verdict

• Recommended as a handmade burger spot in Sinbu-dong
• The Avocado Burger was soft and very satisfying
• The Downtown Double is a must if you like meat
• The meal is complete only with fries
