Korean BBQ for two by bus in Daejeon: unlimited beer at Hanmaeum

Today's story is about Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Tapnip (한마음정육식당 탑립점) in Yuseong, Daejeon haha. I'd had it bookmarked for about three years, always saying "I'll go, I'll go," and I finally made it this time haha

Where is Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Tapnip and how to get there by bus

Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Tapnip is in Tapnip-dong, Yuseong, Daejeon, and it's open from 12:00 to 23:00. Parking is available, pets are welcome, and there's a kids' playroom and high chairs too.

We took bus 705 and got off at the Tapnip 1-tong stop! You can park there, but we wanted to drink, so we went by public transport 🤩

How many people fit in the glamping-style tents?

From the entrance on, Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Tapnip feels just like a glamping site. Doesn't it look exactly like one?

There seem to be about 8 individual tents. Each one was big enough for 8 to 10 people easily.

It was a hot day, and the owner had already turned on the air conditioner and fan for us! So thoughtful!

You order at a "mini mart" haha. A mini mart, how cute is that haha. The set menus are the pork platter, 500g for ₩42,000 (pork belly, neck, five-layer belly, gabrisal (pork front-leg ridge meat), hangjeongsal (pork jowl)), and the beef platter, 300g for ₩45,000 (galbi meat, bucheosal (flap meat), ribs, jin-galbi meat).

Besides the sets, you can also order pork and beef separately. Sides included mul naengmyeon (cold noodles in broth), bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles), sprout jjolmyeon (chewy noodles), and Mom's fried rice.

Grab your grill add-ons straight from the fridge

The mini mart fridge has meat and grill sets already prepared. The grill sets are mixed mushrooms ₩7,000, mixed sausages ₩8,000, shrimp ₩7,000 and water dropwort ₩7,000, and you just grab them from the fridge!

Alcohol, soft drinks and even ramyeon at the in-house mini mart

The mini mart also had a good variety of alcohol and soft drinks, plus non-alcoholic beer, so drivers needn't worry haha. And canned highballs too!!!

They also sell drinks and ice cream for kids. There's a snack corner too, and even ramyeon (instant noodles) with a noodle machine, so you can cook it yourself.

How much is the unlimited beer at Hanmaeum?

Beer is unlimited for ₩4,000!!! There's also a self-serve bar where you can help yourself to side dishes, and this unlimited beer was honestly so good haha

There were two of us, and we each had two refills, and my partner had one more, so we used the beer machine five times in total haha

Tent fees and house rules

Since it's a barbecue garden, there's a tent fee: ₩15,000 on weekdays and ₩20,000 on weekends. Outside food isn't allowed, and the site is non-smoking, so please use the designated smoking area.

The 42,000-won pork platter: how it tasted

While you order at the mini mart, the staff set up the basics in your tent haha

The basic spread: bibim jjolmyeon, scallion salad and wraps, kimchi, bean sprouts, onion and pickled radish!!

The doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) had zucchini, tofu and onion all mixed in, and it was so good. That classic BBQ-restaurant doenjang flavor that makes soju go down so easily!!!

The staff grill the meat in a cauldron-style grill outside the tent! No worrying about mosquitoes on a hot day, and no sweating over the grill yourself, so it was lovely!!

The grilled meat, delivered to our tent!! Doesn't it look sooo good!!? Getting all 5 cuts at once, pork belly, neck, five-layer belly, gabrisal and hangjeongsal, haha

We put the kimchi and bean sprouts next to the meat and grilled them a bit more on the burner!!!

I especially loved the pork belly and the neck!!!!! The belly was tasty with the fat blending in, and the neck wasn't dry at all, it was juicy and so so so good lol

We wolfed everything down in no time and went out for the campfire, and the owner worried that something was wrong with the food lol. I said no, it was just so good we finished it in a flash, and only then did he relax lol

The meat quality is really good and I enjoyed it so much ㅠ

You can enjoy a campfire (bulmeong, staring at the fire) after eating. We sat by it full and patting our bellies.

Campfire... so nice... It really felt like we were camping ㅜ Doesn't it have that camping feel? It was so healing ㅠㅠ We even set off little fireworks, and it was such a relaxing time after so long ㅜㅜ

A kids' playroom for families

Oh, and there's a kids' playroom too, so it looks like a good place to bring children.
