Jamsil craft burger date with garlic butter fries: Downtown Jamsil

Downtown Jamsil is a craft burger shop near Songpanaru Station in Songpa, Seoul, on the Seokchon Lake and Songridan-gil date route. Instead of the usual avocado burger, the blogger ordered the Cream Cheese Chicken (10,900 won) and Double Cheese Truffle (12,400 won) as sets and swapped the regular fries for Garlic Butter Fries. Choose the Cream Cheese Chicken for a rich flavor or the Double Cheese Truffle for a cleaner meal, and the Garlic Butter Fries are well worth adding.

Hongdae ramen shop with adjustable saltiness: Shomendo shrimp tonkotsu

Shomendo is a tonkotsu ramen shop on Donggyo-ro 46-gil in Yeonnam-dong, near Hongik Univ. Station in Seoul, with bar seats wrapped around the kitchen that suit solo diners and a choice of broth saltiness. The writer, who usually finds ramen too salty, shared Hakata tonkotsu ramen (11,000 won), shrimp tonkotsu (12,000 won) and handmade gyoza (5,000 won) with her boyfriend and found even the regular salt level just right. For anyone wary of salty ramen, Shomendo's shrimp tonkotsu, with its nutty dried-shrimp flavor, is the memorable pick.

Hongdae date-night restaurant: salmon pasta still good cold, Brivit

Brivit Hongdae Yeonnam is a pasta and steak restaurant on Woldeukeopbuk-ro 2-gil in Yeonnam-dong, near Hongik Univ. Station in Mapo, Seoul. Two of us ordered the Brivit Steak (₩37,900) and the Salmon Steak Pasta (₩19,900): the flat iron steak was tender and well cooked, and the salmon pasta stayed tasty and not too salty even after it cooled during photos. With good food and a good atmosphere, Brivit Hongdae Yeonnam is a Hongdae restaurant worth revisiting for a date or blind date.

Hongdae café with my fiancé: Greek yogurt peach soufflé, Think Fruit

Think Fruit is a seasonal fruit soufflé café on Wausan-ro 29-gil in Mapo, Seoul, near Hongik Univ. Station. The writer and her soufflé-loving fiancé shared a 22,000-won peach soufflé topped with a whole Greek yogurt peach ("Greek momo"), along with a salt cream coffee and a Vanilla Sky. The peach portion was huge, and its tang kept the soufflé from being too sweet. If you love autumn seasonal fruit and soufflé, Think Fruit's peach soufflé is worth trying at least once.

Sese Coffee is a roastery café on Songni-dan-gil near Songpanaru Station in Jamsil, Seoul, where all the coffee is roasted in-house and 8 seasonal hand-drip coffees are on the menu. At Sese Coffee, the writer and her boyfriend shared a milky almond latte for 6,000 won, a caffeine-free yuja sprout for 5,500 won and a hazelnut vanilla mini pound cake for 5,000 won. The nutty milky almond latte and the generously sized pound cake made Sese Coffee a café she wants to revisit, even on her own.
