Gimpo Korean set meal for 3 with take-home side dishes: Bomseol
In short
Bomseol Gimpo (Hansik Gongan On, 한식공간 온) is a Korean set-meal restaurant on Geomdan-ro in Gimpo, Gyeonggi, specializing in healthy meals with charcoal-grilled dishes. We ordered the Bomseol Table for 3 at 18,000 won per person: stone-pot rice, cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew), spicy pork stir-fry, braised half-dried pollock, healthy side dishes and young radish bibimbap from the self-serve bar, and we bought our favorite side dishes to take home. With mildly seasoned side dishes and a large parking lot, Bomseol Gimpo is a Gimpo Korean restaurant well suited to a meal with your parents.

Today is an honest review of Bomseol Gimpo (Hansik Gongan On). It's a Korean set-meal restaurant in Gimpo that's great for going with your parents, and I really want to recommend it.

Bomseol Gimpo only opened recently, yet the food is well made and good value. I was impressed by the spread: neat side dishes, stone-pot rice, cheonggukjang, pork stir-fry and braised pollock, all filling the table.
Bomseol Gimpo hours and parking
Bomseol Gimpo (Hansik Gongan On) is open from 11:00 to 21:30, with last order at 20:30. On weekdays there's a break from 15:00 to 17:00, and on weekends there's no break time!
There's a large parking lot with room for over 100 cars. Tables are set up for different kinds of gatherings, including rooms for family meals and company dinners, and seating for groups.
Bomseol Gimpo exterior

As you'd expect from a newly opened restaurant, the place is clean and the food impressive, and the value for the price was great too. If you're looking for a Gyeonggi-do restaurant, Gimpo Korean set meal or Gimpo lunch spot, I recommend a heartfelt meal at Bomseol Gimpo Hansik Gongan On.

The interior is spacious and comfortable, and looked perfectly suited for family gatherings, group meals, company dinners and even formal family introductions.
What kind of Korean restaurant is Bomseol Gimpo?

Bomseol Gimpo is a newly opened Korean set-meal restaurant specializing in charcoal-grilled healthy meals. The moment I walked in, I noticed the certificates and awards of a Korean cuisine master. I could feel their pride and care in the food, which made me look forward to the meal even more.
Bomseol Table price and à la carte menu
The signature Bomseol Table (봄설밥상) is ₩18,000 per person.

You can also order extras à la carte, such as braised pollock, grilled mackerel and pork stir-fry, and there's a mountain-sized scallion bulgogi too, so there's plenty to choose from.

Spacious interior that fits groups

I heard there's also a new-menu discount event running in June, so it's worth checking before you go.
Can you buy Bomseol Gimpo's side dishes to take home?

Bomseol Gimpo sells pickled and seasoned sides such as bellflower root, lotus root, pickled chili and garlic stems, and after 5 PM you can get them in a 2+1 deal for ₩10,000. I loved that you can buy these tasty sides separately. I liked them so much that I actually bought some sides to take home.
What does the Bomseol Table for 3 look like?
This visit, I ordered the Bomseol Table for 3. It's ₩18,000 per person, and for that price the spread was honestly amazing.
It's a full table with a basic set of stone-pot rice, salad, cheonggukjang and healthy sides, plus pork stir-fry and braised pollock. You get salad, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), fried items and health-minded sides prepared fresh every morning, along with the stone-pot rice and cheonggukjang. With the pork stir-fry and braised pollock on top, the table is packed.
A stone-pot rice set meal: how are the sides?

The sides were what satisfied me most at Bomseol Gimpo. Every one was clean-tasting and not overpowering. They weren't heavily seasoned, so it felt like eating healthy home cooking. The lotus root, zucchini muchim (seasoned zucchini) and even the salad were well balanced overall.
If you like Korean food, I think the stone-pot rice alone will satisfy you.

Warm, freshly cooked stone-pot rice with cheonggukjang made for a really hearty meal. The cheonggukjang was savory yet clean and not too strong, so anyone could enjoy it without hesitation, and it went well with the various sides.

The pork stir-fry was even better eaten with wrap vegetables.

Braised pollock and pork stir-fry: are the mains enough?
I was satisfied with the braised pollock and pork stir-fry too. Bomseol totally broke the prejudice that a good-value set must skimp on the main dishes.

The sauce on the braised pollock was really good. The fish was soft and moist, so even people who don't usually like fish could enjoy it.

Getting meat and fish in one meal is a big plus of the Bomseol Table, I think.

With the stone-pot rice, you scoop out the rice, pour in water and finish with sungnyung (scorched rice tea), which was fun. A Korean meal is always best finished with sungnyung!
Can you make young radish bibimbap at Bomseol Gimpo's self-bar?
The self-bar at Bomseol Gimpo had vegetables for making young radish bibimbap (yeolmu bibimbap). You can mix it to your own taste, which made the meal even more filling. I liked that you can enjoy Korean food in so many ways.

With japchae, fried items and all the sides added in, it honestly felt like a full-course Korean meal.
A Gimpo Korean restaurant for taking your parents
If you're looking for a proper Korean set meal in Gimpo, I recommend Bomseol Gimpo. The neat sides, healthy menu, stone-pot rice and cheonggukjang, braised pollock and pork stir-fry were all satisfying. With the big parking lot and comfortable dining room, it's good for visiting with your parents and I think it would please families on a meal out too.
