Hi, I'm Kkotsuni. Gwangseonjip near Kkachisan Station is a great spot — the meat comes out perfectly grilled and there's a generous variety of cuts and side dishes, making it a very satisfying place for two people to visit.
This time we went as a pair and ordered the mixed half platter, which lets you try ogyeopsal (pork belly), kkodeulsal, and bbolsal all in one order. I'd especially recommend it if you want to sample a bunch of different cuts.

What is Gwangseonjip Kkachisan Station Main Branch like inside?
Gwangseonjip Kkachisan Station Main Branch
Gwangseonjip is a spot I'd recommend if you're hunting for good Korean BBQ near Kkachisan Station. Walking in, the place felt clean but still had that classic BBQ-joint atmosphere, and it was packed with customers when I visited — you could tell just from the vibe why it's such a popular spot near the station.

Order soju at Gwangseonjip and a heotgae stick comes with it
What really stood out was that when we ordered soju, they gave us a heotgae stick (hangover-prevention supplement) along with it — such a thoughtful touch. We took one before really getting into the drinking, ha, and enjoyed the meal from there.

Staff grill the Jeju black pork for you
What I loved most was that the meat comes out already grilled. On hot days like this, constantly grilling at the table means dealing with the heat and worrying about smelling like smoke — but at Gwangseonjip you just get to relax and enjoy meat that's already been cooked perfectly.

What comes in the two-person mixed half platter, and what does it cost?
What I ordered this time was the mixed half platter. It comes with Jeju black pork ogyeopsal 180g, kkodeulsal 180g, and bbolsal 180g — 540g total — for ₩49,700.

We also ordered draft beer alongside the meat. There's currently a summer-only promo running where draft beer is ₩2,900, so definitely check that out if you visit. Having a cold beer on a hot day even before the meat arrived already put me in a good mood. The beer was smooth and refreshing and paired really well with the meat. Starting light with beer and moving on to soju — such a great combo.

Spicy sauce, sweet sauce and the best wrap combinations
I especially liked that a spicy sauce and a sweet sauce came out separately, so the same meat could taste different depending on which one you used. It was delicious wrapped in lettuce with chive salad and vegetables, and also great just eaten plain to enjoy the meat's own flavor. Once the bean sprouts, enoki mushrooms, and kkwari peppers were cooked through, eating them alongside the meat brought out the flavor of the meat and the texture of the vegetables together really well.

The staff were kind too, so the whole meal was a pleasant experience.

If you're visiting as a pair and want to try a variety of cuts, I'd recommend Gwangseonjip's couple-friendly mixed half platter. What I liked most was that instead of just one cut, you get to enjoy ogyeopsal, kkodeulsal, and bbolsal each with their own distinct texture. The portion was also more generous than I expected, plenty for two, and with all the side dishes it made for a satisfying full meal. If you're deciding on a two-person order at a BBQ place near Kkachisan Station, I'd recommend the mixed half platter.

Kimchi jjim and pa-kimchi (spring onion kimchi) at Gwangseonjip
There was also kimchi jjim (braised kimchi). It was great to not just eat meat at a BBQ place but also have spicy pa-kimchi jjim on the side. Eating the pa-kimchi (green onion kimchi) alongside cut through the richness of the meat and refreshed the palate.

Pairing a bite of meat with pa-kimchi or kimchi jjim, and mixing in vegetables here and there, gave us plenty of different flavor combos to enjoy. Having such solid side dishes seems like one of Gwangseonjip's real strengths.

Ogyeopsal, kkodeulsal, bbolsal: how the three cuts compare
The mixed half platter came out with bean sprouts, enoki mushrooms, and kkwari peppers alongside the meat, making the whole spread feel even more generous. There was no gamy smell at all, and each cut had a clearly distinct texture. Personally, the chewy texture of the ogyeopsal impressed me the most.

The black pork's characteristic savory flavor and chewy texture really came through, and it got tastier the more you chewed. Kkodeulsal lived up to its name with a lively bite, and the bbolsal was also chewy without feeling heavy — I enjoyed both a lot.

The side dishes at Gwangseonjip: tidy and varied
With lettuce, chive salad, and several sauces on hand, you could enjoy the meat exactly to your taste.

Is Gwangseonjip near Kkachisan Station good for a family meal?
Gwangseonjip felt like a great spot for friends or couples, but also seemed like it would work well for family visits. Baby chairs are available, so families with kids should be able to eat comfortably too.

There are also various promotions running, like hamburg steak coupons, so it's worth checking before you visit. Above all, since the meat comes out already grilled, not having to flip anything was genuinely convenient.

The mixed half platter I tried this time is a menu I'd recommend for two people who want to enjoy a variety of meat generously. You get to taste Jeju black pork ogyeopsal 180g, kkodeulsal 180g, and bbolsal 180g — 540g total — in one go, plus vegetables like bean sprouts, enoki mushrooms, and kkwari peppers, making for a really solid spread. The meat was clean with no gamy smell, and each cut had a different texture, which made it fun to pick and choose.

If you're looking for a BBQ restaurant near Kkachisan Station, definitely visit Gwangseonjip's main branch — it's well known among locals.
