Weekend pizza dinner in Wirye, Greekology half-and-half: Jackson Pizza

There are so many restaurants around Wirye Central Plaza that every time we eat out, we agonize over where to go. For a family meal with a kid especially, the menu matters, but so do how pleasant the place is and whether parking is easy.

This time I visited Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch, where you can try American-style pizza made with cold-aged dough and generously piled toppings.

I got to try a salty, savory signature pizza as well as a mild, nutty vegetable pizza. The place was also bigger and cleaner than I expected, so it works well for a family meal. If you're looking for a good pizza place at Wirye Central Plaza, have a look!

Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch is at Wirye Central Plaza (104 Wiryegwangjang-ro, 1st floor), and parking is free for up to 3 hours. It's a good pick when you're looking for somewhere to eat around the plaza.

I especially liked that parking is free for up to 3 hours 🌟. You don't have to rush off after eating, and there's time for dessert at a café or a stroll nearby. If you're driving to Wirye Central Plaza for a family meal, that takes some of the parking stress away.

Atmosphere and seating at Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch

Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch has a large hall with generously spaced tables, decorated in white and red. I booked through Naver for a weekend evening and was shown to a table right away.

Even the exterior has the vibe of an American pizza joint.

Inside, the dining hall was bigger than I'd imagined, and the tables had plenty of space between them. The white-and-red interior made everything feel clean.

It was a weekend evening, so there were lots of families, friends and couples. I figured it might be crowded, so I booked on Naver just in case, and we were seated as soon as we arrived.

We sat at a table for two. It was round, so there was more room than I expected, and the spacing between seats let us eat comfortably.

When you eat out with a child, a cramped place or tightly packed tables can be a bit of a hassle, but the hall at Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch is roomy and felt much more comfortable.

Menu, QR ordering and prices by size

At Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch you order with the QR code on the table, and pizzas come in three sizes: Personal, Regular and Large. The signature Super Jackson is ₩13,800 for Personal and ₩38,800 for Large.

The menu and store guidelines were laid out clearly, including notes on sauces, water and additional orders.

There's a Personal size for eating solo, plus Regular and Large for sharing.

Personal is good for a quick meal alone, and Regular or Large suits two or more. Large can also be ordered half-and-half, so you can try two different pizzas at once, which I loved.

Large half-and-half for two: Super Jackson & Greekology

There were only two of us, but we ordered a Large half-and-half of Super Jackson and Greekology. The pizza arrived about 15 minutes after ordering.

Even though it was just the two of us, we wanted to try different flavors, so we went with the Large. We chose a half-and-half so one pizza could be split into two flavors.

We ordered Super Jackson, the signature pizza, and Greekology, which has appealing vegetable toppings.

Plastic gloves, hot sauce, parmesan cheese and crushed pepper were also set out for eating the pizza.

The water and the cola we ordered came first, and the pizza, which seems to be cooked to order, arrived after about 15 minutes.

While we were chatting, the pizza showed up! A big Large pizza on the table really makes you hungry. 😋

What does the signature Super Jackson taste like?

Super Jackson is the signature pizza, loaded with 10 toppings, salty and rich in savory flavor. Even with so many toppings, the rich tomato sauce still came through.

The generous toppings caught my eye the moment it arrived. Sausage, bacon, pepperoni, beef and more were piled on, and just looking at it gave me that abundant American-pizza feeling.

One bite is salty with deep savory flavor. The various toppings blend into a rich taste, and if you like American pizza, it's familiar and satisfying. What impressed me most was the tomato sauce. Despite all the toppings, the sauce didn't get buried, and I could taste a deep, rich tomato flavor.

If you like salty, bold pizza or want a signature pizza where many ingredients come together, I'd recommend Super Jackson. If it's your first visit and you can't decide what to order, it's a good choice.

Mild and nutty vegetable pizza: Greekology

Greekology is Jackson Pizza's vegetable pizza with zucchini, eggplant, grilled bell pepper, red onion, feta cheese, oregano and basil. It was the item I was most looking forward to on this visit, and I liked it even more than I expected.

The item I was most excited about this time was Greekology.

Having tried it, I liked it even more than I expected!

If Super Jackson is salty and full of savory flavor, Greekology lets the natural taste and nuttiness of the vegetables come through. You can feel the texture of the zucchini, eggplant and bell pepper, and with the cheese it ends up nutty and mild. The rich tomato sauce is there too, so it wasn't a dull pizza with just vegetables on top. It isn't harsh, and I liked how each ingredient's flavor blended together.

Personally, I think it would suit a relaxed brunch as well as dinner. If you like a clean, refined taste, I hope you'll try it. If you're choosing a pizza to share with a child and prefer this mild style, it's worth considering. If you like vegetables and cheese together more than strong saltiness or bold toppings, it should suit you.

Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch gives you house-made ranch sauce and house pickles by default, with no need to order them separately. The ranch is said to be made by prepping herbs, blending 7 or more ingredients and aging it for 24 hours.

Dipping the pizza crust in the nutty, flavorful ranch tasted different from eating it plain. I liked being able to enjoy the leftover dough after finishing the toppings.

I also liked that the sauce comes by default without ordering it separately. The house pickles served alongside cleansed the palate from the salty, nutty pizza, so they were nice to eat with it.

Is a Large enough for two people?

The Large comes with 8 slices, which was plenty for two 🐽. We each ate 3 slices, 6 in total, and were still full.

In the end we boxed up the remaining 2 slices. The staff packed the leftovers neatly and even included ranch sauce, a small thing that made me happy.

Even with just two people, a Large half-and-half is a fine choice if you want to try several flavors. Depending on how much you eat, though, you may have leftovers, so keep that in mind when ordering.

I tried Super Jackson and Greekology as a half-and-half at Jackson Pizza Wirye Branch. The two pizzas taste clearly different, so alternating between them was fun.

Super Jackson appealed with its salty, rich savory flavor from many toppings combined, while Greekology impressed with a mild, nutty taste where vegetables and cheese work together. Even if people with different tastes visit together, each can pick the flavor they like.

The interior was large and clean, with comfortably spaced tables. Being at Wirye Central Plaza makes it easy to reach, and with 3 hours of free underground parking, it's nice to take your time after eating.
