Sunset terrace café near Ttukseom with an 8pm evening menu: Mellows

Mellows is a Seoul Forest-area café three minutes from Exit 7 of Ttukseom Station in Seongdong, Seoul, serving Sangha Farm soft serve and coffee by day and a cocktail evening menu from 8pm. On the terrace at sunset we ordered peanut butter and milk soft serve with a matcha latte and a chocolate latte at 3,500 to 4,000 won each, and although it was just before 8pm the staff still took the café-menu order and brought out free cherry tomatoes and Shine Muscat grapes. Even if you don't drink, Mellows is worth a late night in Seongsu for the atmosphere alone.

I found a café in Seongsu with such great vibes. Red brick, pretty lighting, a lovely sign — a real Seoul Forest-mood café. By day it's a café and ice cream dessert spot, by night you can enjoy a cocktail on the terrace. I visited Mellows, this Seoul Forest-mood café.

Where is Mellows? Three minutes from Ttukseom Station Exit 7
Mellows is less than a 3-minute walk from Exit 7 of Ttukseom Station on Line 2, so it's not hard to find at all, and it's a great spot to drop by after hanging out in Seongsu-dong. We walked over from Seongsu Station, and it took about 10 minutes.
What the Mellows terrace feels like at sunset
It was early evening as the sun was setting, and the weather was so nice that there were lots of guests at the terrace tables. I think this is exactly the right time to visit. The vibe was seriously insane...✨ The interior is on the small side, but the bar seats, tables, and lighting were all put together really nicely. It felt like the perfect spot for a cocktail after sunset.

Here's the menu guide at Mellows. From opening until 8pm you order off the coffee menu, and from 8pm until close you order off the evening menu, which features cocktails. It was about 10 minutes before 8, and since we can't drink, they were kind enough to still take our order from the café menu Good thing too, they can also make non-alcoholic cocktails! They were also really friendly with menu recommendations, which was even better.
Even after sunset the weather stayed cool with a light breeze, so we grabbed one of the outdoor tables. The lighting on each table and the soft background music playing from inside made the atmosphere really lovely.

We each ordered a drink, and then remembered hearing that this Ttukseom Station café is famous for its Sangha Farm ice cream, so we ordered one of those each too.
Sangha Farm is a company under parent company Maeil Dairy, and since they produce organic milk you can trust what you're eating — and Maeil is already my favorite milk brand anyway. So this was an unexpectedly happy encounter. When the peanut butter soft serve arrived, I fell for the toppings and the visuals immediately...🍦

Since none of us drink and none of us really do coffee either, our drinks ended up being a matcha latte and chocolate latte combo. We shared the ice cream too, and it was so good. There's granola?! filled in at the bottom of the ice cream!
The soft, mild vanilla ice cream tastes even better with a bit of the nutty peanut butter on top, and it melted in our mouths. A few drops of water fell on us at the terrace table, and we thought it was starting to rain so we moved inside — but it turns out it never rained at all, the weather stayed great the whole time... we were just people who moved from outside to inside for no reason lol.
Free fruit service: cherry tomatoes and Shine Muscat grapes
While we were enjoying a relaxed atmosphere and chatting up a storm, we were brought a fruit snack as a free service. It was sweet cherry tomatoes and Shine Muscat grapes 🍇 The owner and staff were so, so kind to us even though we weren't drinking and were just camping out at our table into the night, so I already know I want to come back again and often.
What to order next time, and Mellows' hours until 1am
Honestly, the ice cream was already so good that I feel like I need to have it every time I visit Seongsu. Next time I want to try that Jeju matcha soft serve that looks like a new menu item.
