Gapyeong butcher shop for barbecue beef: Ari Chuksan
In short
Ari Chuksan (아리축산) is a butcher shop in Cheongpyeong-myeon, Gapyeong, where I bought salchisal beef to grill at my accommodation. The meat was cut to order and cooked up tender in manageable, bite-sized pieces, though I did not record the price or weight for a detailed comparison.

Where did I buy meat before going to my Gapyeong accommodation?
I revisited Ari Chuksan (아리축산), which I had stopped by on a previous Gapyeong trip. I had been pleased with the quality of the meat I bought last time, so I came by again before checking into my accommodation. It is a butcher shop in Cheongpyeong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, and this time I chose beef salchisal for grilling at the accommodation.
There were several banners and signs in front of the shop. I saw notices identifying it as a good-meat retailer and an excellent shop at Cheongpyeong Yeoul Market, as well as information about payment methods.

At the time of my visit, the shop stated that Onnuri gift certificates and high-fuel-price relief funds could be used. I returned because I remembered being satisfied with the quality and price of the meat I had bought before.

Can you buy barbecue meat and supplies together?
The shop says it debones and sells meat on site. Its notice said pork is deboned and trimmed every Tuesday and Wednesday, while Korean beef and beef are handled on Thursdays. It also had camping meat, tomahawk steaks, and lamb ribs.

The shop stocked ssamjang and other sauces, along with lettuce, chili peppers, mushrooms, perilla leaves, sliced scallions, and onions to serve with the meat. It also had charcoal briquettes, grill grates, and charcoal, so I could pick up barbecue supplies in one place.

There were also braised beef ribs made with U.S. Top Choice-grade beef. As I looked around, I saw meat for a range of uses beyond grilling.

It also sold High Pork and Korean beef. When I bought and ate meat here on my previous visit, I felt the quality was good then as well.

Along with Korean beef and imported meat, there was a wide selection including beef bulgogi, LA galbi, tomahawk steaks, T-bone steaks, grilled pork ribs, gochujang- and soy sauce-marinated pork bulgogi, and handmade pork cutlets.

The shop also sold herbal medicinal ingredients, whole duck, and chicken.

What did the shop say about reservation purchases and delivery?
The shop says that if you apply for a reservation purchase through Naver Place and visit, it provides lettuce, sliced scallions, salt, sauces, and more. Delivery purchases are also available, and a notice said shipping is free on orders of ₩70,000 or more. The delivery notice also mentioned extras such as salt and sauces.

What were the price and preparation like for the salchisal?
When I ordered the salchisal, they said it needed to be sliced then and cut it for me. I also checked prices at nearby supermarkets; in my comparison, Ari Chuksan was a little cheaper and the meat looked fresher. However, I did not record the purchase price or weight, so I cannot make a specific price comparison.

With this purchase, I received king oyster mushrooms as a complimentary extra.

The salchisal I bought had noticeable marbling and looked fresh.

How did the grilled salchisal taste at the accommodation?
After arriving at the accommodation, I grilled the salchisal.

It cooked quickly on the heat, so I ate it lightly cooked.

The slices were a good thickness and a convenient bite size. They were tender and soft to chew, which I was happy with.

I ate it with steamed rice and ended up finishing a whole bowl. As on my previous visit, I was satisfied with the meat I bought to grill at the accommodation.
