At Shabro21 Susong each diner gets an individual pot, chooses a broth such as basic, spicy or mala, and cooks meat and vegetables in it, which made the meal easy whether eating alone or on a date for two. Shabro21 Susong is a clean, no-pressure meal, but it sits in Susong-dong's busy commercial center, so allow extra time for parking at mealtimes.

Deulbabae Forest Resom Branch (들밥애 포레스트리솜점) is a Korean set-meal restaurant on the 3rd floor of the Forest Club at Forest Resom in Baegun-myeon, Jecheon. After a water park day while staying at Forest Resom with a child, the writer ate the seasoned spicy pork set (yangnyeom jeyuk bapsang), with neat side dishes, stone-pot rice and sungnyung (scorched rice tea) to finish, making a filling family meal. Prices may feel a little higher than at restaurants outside the resort, but for easy access and child-friendly convenience, Deulbabae is a very satisfying Korean restaurant inside the resort.

Iksan Korean restaurant for galbitang and cold soba: Sumine Gukbap

Sumine Gukbap (수미네국밥) is a gukbap and galbitang Korean restaurant on Baesan-ro in Mohyeon-dong, Iksan. One lunch of galbitang (beef short rib soup), cold soba (naengmomil) and fried dumplings came to 29,000 won in total. The galbitang was clearly seasoned yet clean on the finish, and rice refills were free. For hot broth and cold noodles at one table, Sumine Gukbap is a solid lunch pick in Mohyeon-dong.

Mekong Thai Sejong Lake Park Branch is a Vietnamese and Thai restaurant on the 3rd floor of the Sejong Machi building at 91 Doum 8-ro, Sejong. Our family ordered one serving of bun cha (grilled pork with rice noodles) and a large beef pho, and the bun cha meat was sweet and so tender it melted in the mouth. Cilantro is chosen to taste before ordering, so Mekong Thai works easily for a family meal with a baby.
