I went to Gamgol Yeontan-jip while looking for good restaurants near Seonyudo Station. I tried the pork neck, kkodeulsal, flat bibim noodles, charcoal fried rice, and doenjang jjigae, and if you like flat glass noodles, I really recommend the flat bibim noodles!!
I went to Gamgol Yeontan-jip while looking for a place to eat meat on a date near Seonyudo Station!! It was all about the meat, but the side dishes were so varied that we ended up eating way more than expected haha. We ordered pork neck, kkodeulsal, flat bibim noodles, Lady Im So-young's doenjang jjigae, and charcoal fried rice!! To cut to the chase, I highly, highly recommend the flat bibim noodles haha. If you like flat glass noodles, just order this without thinking twice!!
Where is Gamgol Yeontan-jip Seonyudo Station Branch?

Gamgol Yeontan-jip is located at 15 Seonyu-ro 49-gil, 1st floor, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. I visited while searching for good restaurants near Seonyudo Station, and the exterior caught my eye right away. The name Gamgol Yeontan-jip was written in big letters, so it wasn't hard to find at all.

The exterior gives off an old-school vibe rather than the usual modern Korean BBQ feel haha. I love this kind of retro atmosphere, so I was already excited before even going in!! There was also a waitlist board at the entrance. When I visited, quite a few names were already written on it haha.
What is the interior like inside Gamgol Yeontan-jip?

Once you step inside, the same retro feeling from the exterior continues!! It's a completely different vibe from today's clean, sleek Korean BBQ restaurants.

It felt a bit like stepping into an old-fashioned diner, and there was actually a lot to look at haha.

Especially the old cooler bag sitting next to the table!! At first I thought it was just decoration, but even that little detail fit the atmosphere perfectly haha. It felt like a place better suited for a casual date grilling meat and talking than a super formal one.
Gamgol Yeontan-jip menu and prices

Looking at the menu board, there were more meat and side options than I expected. At the time of my visit, gochujang charcoal bulgogi 150g was ₩14,900, and charcoal coarse-salt pork belly 150g was ₩15,900. String-cut black pork neck 150g was ₩15,900, and seolhwa kkodeulsal 150g was ₩17,900. There were also various side dishes — flat bibim noodles and charcoal fried rice were each ₩6,900. Lady Im So-young's doenjang jjigae was also ₩6,900. After much deliberation, we ended up ordering pork neck, kkodeulsal, and a bunch of sides haha.
Pork neck, kkodeulsal and flat bibim noodles: the combo to order

First, the pork neck and kkodeulsal!! The meat comes served in a jar, and I was like huh? the first time I saw it haha. Instead of coming out on a plain plate, this detail also matched Gamgol Yeontan-jip's overall vibe well.

The pork neck was thick, so there was a satisfying, meaty chew to it. I first tried it dipped lightly in just salt — you really have to try meat this way first haha.
Then I dipped it in the green sauce that came with it too. That paired surprisingly well too!! Rather than just eating the meat plain the whole time, alternating between salt and sauce kept me reaching for more haha.

The kkodeulsal had a completely different texture from the pork neck, so I was glad we ordered both.

Just watching it sizzle on the grill makes me want to eat it again haha.

Why the flat bibim noodles are worth ordering
And now the dish I really, really want to recommend at Gamgol Yeontan-jip!! It's the flat bibim noodles.

If you like flat glass noodles, you have to order this haha. Maybe because I personally love flat glass noodles, but the moment I saw it, it was totally my thing!! The wide noodles were coated evenly in the seasoning, and there were plenty of vegetables piled on top. The noodle texture was clearly different from a typical Korean BBQ restaurant's bibim noodles. Most of the bibim noodles I've had before used thin noodles.
Here, the wide, flat noodles had a chewy bite that made it so much more fun to eat haha. Try it with a piece of meat especially!! When the meat starts to feel a bit heavy, a spicy bite of the bibim noodles makes you want to go back for more meat haha. I'd definitely order this again next time!! If you like flat glass noodles, don't even think twice haha. Highly, highly recommend!!
Finishing with charcoal fried rice and Lady Im So-young's doenjang jjigae

After the meat and flat bibim noodles, we probably should have stopped... but how can you resist fried rice haha. In the end, we ordered the charcoal fried rice too!!

It comes out on a hot plate with a fried egg on top, and the shape of the fried rice was so unique that I took pictures the moment it arrived haha. We were already pretty full, but once the fried rice showed up, it somehow all went in anyway haha. I guess there's really a separate stomach for fried rice after Korean BBQ!!
And finally, we finished with Lady Im So-young's doenjang jjigae. The name of the dish itself was so unusual that I was curious about it. It came out boiling hot in a stone pot, which was perfect for finishing off the meal with some broth. There was tofu and vegetables in it too, so it made for a warm, comforting ending after the meat and fried rice haha. I used to think that at a Korean BBQ place, it was all about the meat being good. But lately, places where even the side dishes are delicious tend to stick in my memory more! Gamgol Yeontan-jip was one of those places.

Is Gamgol Yeontan-jip a good date-night BBQ near Seonyudo Station?
It wasn't just pork neck and kkodeulsal and done — there was real enjoyment in working through the flat bibim noodles, charcoal fried rice, and doenjang jjigae one by one. My personal top pick is still the flat bibim noodles!! If you're looking for good restaurants near Seonyudo Station for a date, I think this kind of relaxed BBQ place is a great option too. You know, not a heavily set-up, formal date, but one where you eat a ton of good food and just talk comfortably haha. It was perfect for exactly that kind of day!!

If I went again, I'd order the pork neck or kkodeulsal, and I'd always get the flat bibim noodles alongside it haha. If you're looking for a place to eat meat near Seonyudo Station, give Gamgol Yeontan-jip a try!! And if you like flat glass noodles, don't miss the flat bibim noodles haha. Highly, highly recommend!!
