Gopchang grill near Daerim Station with extra daechang: Gimga-ne
In short
Gimga-ne Gopchang Gui Daerim Station Main Branch is a gopchang (grilled beef small intestine) restaurant and bar near Exit 1 of Daerim Station in Guro, Seoul. On a late weekday evening, the writer and a daechang-loving friend ordered 2 mixed gopchang platters plus 1 daechang (beef large intestine), drank cola instead of alcohol, and finished with free Hangang ramyeon earned by writing a receipt review. Because the staff grill the gopchang and daechang fully for you and the meat has no gamey smell, Gimga-ne Gopchang Gui is satisfying even if you don't drink.

I remembered how good it was last time, so I came back to Gimga-ne Gopchang Gui Daerim Station Main Branch (김가네곱창구이 대림역본점), a well-loved gopchang (grilled beef intestine) spot near Daerim Station, for gopchang and daechang (beef large intestine). I like both, but I don't get to eat them often, so I have to pick a day and make a proper trip of it. This time again, I got a hearty meal.
Even on a late weekday evening, it's a drinking spot popular with locals around Daerim Station and office workers from Guro and Gasan Digital Complex, so it's always bustling and packed with people~ >0<
Location and hours of Gimga-ne Daerim Station Main Branch
Gimga-ne Gopchang Gui Daerim Station Main Branch is at 93 Dorim-ro, 1st floor, Guro-gu, Seoul, South Korea, near Exit 1 of Daerim Station. It is open Monday to Sunday, 14:00–24:00.

It was full of people even late on a weekday evening, which tells you this is one of the gopchang places to know in Guro.

What to order if you love daechang: 2 mixed gopchang plus 1 daechang
I agonized over the menu for ages, and in the end we, being daechang lovers, ordered two mixed gopchang platters and one daechang. The staff start grilling the moment you order, so it takes a little while, but you can dig in right away once it arrives, which is great.

Side dishes while you wait
After you order and wait a bit, side dishes come out that go well with gopchang, a lineup that's nice for lightly cleansing your palate between rich bites.

Personally I love the sides, especially the liver, so much that I got a refill. It's fresh and has no gamey smell.

Dipped generously in the oil sauce, it's so good that my hand kept reaching for it without me noticing.

Do you have to grill it yourself? No, it comes fully grilled
At Gimga-ne, the staff grill the food separately off to one side, so no smell clings to your clothes while you wait. It arrives fully cooked, so you can eat right away.
Well then, let's eat well~ >3<

How were the mixed gopchang and daechang?
The gopchang and daechang, grilled almost as if fried in their own oil, come together with the vegetables and really get your appetite going.

Since we added daechang to the mixed gopchang, we got to taste a variety of cuts, and I could happily polish off the daechang I always love.

Eating gopchang and daechang gets a little greasy after a while, and that's when a bite of vegetables with pickles feels so good.

Vegetable gopchang loaded with chives and mushrooms, and potatoes fried in the fat
The gopchang here is piled with chives and mushrooms, so it's tasty on its own, tasty with everything eaten together, and the potatoes fried in the gopchang fat make it really good.
Dip it generously in the special sauce and eat it with a chili pepper for a real treat.

We don't drink alcohol, so we got in the mood with cola instead.

Finishing with the receipt-review Hangang ramyeon
If you write a Naver receipt review, Gimga-ne gives you Hangang ramyeon (instant noodles cooked in a machine, like at the Han River) for free. It goes so well with gopchang that I'd recommend ordering it for sure.
The Hangang ramyeon is self-service: you put the noodles in the container and press the button on the machine, and it cooks by itself, so it's convenient.

I felt like something was missing as a final punch, and the ramyeon is exactly that, so you finish totally satisfied. Sipping the ramyeon broth to wash away the oil is great, and eating the noodles together with the gopchang is really good too.
Is Gimga-ne Daerim Station Main Branch worth going back to?
I came late on a weekday evening after working hard, and it was full, probably because it's a popular spot for team dinners among locals and office workers. The gopchang and daechang are grilled the moment you order, so you can eat them right when they're perfectly cooked, and the gopchang is fresh, so there's no gamey smell. I'll have to come eat here again~ >//<
