Nowon sushi buffet, 6 plates for two big eaters: steamed roe, Kuu Kuu
In short
Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is a sushi buffet on the 6th floor of a building near Exit 2 of Hagye Station in Nowon, Seoul, with a kids' café and group rooms that make it a popular spot for family gatherings and company dinners. The writer booked on Naver and came at weekend opening time with another big eater; together they filled 6 plates with live-fish sushi, steamed algon (fish roe and milt), geotjeori (fresh kimchi), BBQ pork ribs and bead ice cream. Verdict: freshly served food and a wide menu make Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch an easy, stress-free choice for a special-occasion meal from mains to dessert.

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is one of my favorite spots whenever there's a special occasion, and it's a great Nowon pick for family gatherings and company dinners! The place is big and the all-you-can-eat lineup is great, so it works for all ages, from group get-togethers to family meals. There's even a kids' café inside, so lots of families come with children. Here's my honest review from a weekend opening-time visit, let's go~ >_<
Where is Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch and what are the hours?
Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is at 247 Nowon-ro, Nowon-gu, Seoul, South Korea, 6th floor, near Exit 2 of Hagye Station. Hours are Mon–Fri 11:00–21:30 and Sat–Sun 11:00–22:00.

Can you get in right away at weekend opening time with a reservation?
Lots of people come in from the weekend morning, but I booked on Naver beforehand and got in right away. Just head up to the 6th floor.
The spacious, pleasant interior has rooms that can hold large groups, plus a kids' café where children can play.
One thing to know: when customers are waiting, the time limit is 1 hour 30 minutes.

Once we were seated, we started loading up our plates. Maybe because we came right at opening, piping-hot, freshly made food had just been put out, which was great.

What's at the sushi and raw fish stations?
As a sushi buffet should, Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has a wide range, from fresh fish sushi to gunkan (sushi wrapped in seaweed) and rolls. The kitchen is open, so you can watch the food being prepared right in front of you, which makes it easy to trust.

There's maki (rolls) that's hard to find elsewhere, and even a tasty kkomak bibimbap (cockle rice bowl), so I piled on everything I wanted.

On one side there's smoked salmon, rose bream sashimi and yellowfin tuna belly, along with soy-marinated shrimp, soy-marinated crab and mulhoe (cold raw fish soup).

Beyond sushi, are there Korean, grill and snack-bar dishes?
Along with a variety of salads, there's yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) and geotjeori (fresh kimchi), and the geotjeori was so good I brought it back several times. It's famous as a sushi buffet, but there's Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Western food too, so it's easy to pick and choose.

There are various grill dishes too, and the BBQ pork ribs, smoked ribs and buffalo sticks were especially good.
Don't skip the pizza, pasta and soup!! There are also lots of bunsik (Korean snack bar) items that kids will love.
I'm going to load up everything I want and eat it all properly. Okay, bon appétit~ >_<

Two big eaters, 6 plates: what was the best dish?
The best things at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch were the fresh fish sushi and the steamed algon (fish roe). The menu is really varied, from sushi to Korean, Chinese, Japanese, grill and snack-bar food, and I kept loading up what I wanted until I'd filled 6 plates.
Maybe because we're two big eaters who rate sushi spots seriously, everything was good, but the fresh fish sushi stood out. The raw fish had no fishy smell, and the steamed algon was especially good with rice.

What are the desserts at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch?
Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has a wide choice of desserts and sweets, including bead ice cream, so we tried several kinds.
Is it good for a family gathering or company dinner in Nowon?
I was so full I couldn't eat any more dessert and left that way. It was really tasty and filling, a good place for a special day, and being able to enjoy everything from the meal to dessert at a reasonable price made me very happy.
It's good to bring kids and good to bring older relatives, so people living near Nowon and Hagye often come here for family meals. Next time I'll go with my parents~ >_<
