Wonju makchang for two with icy yeolmu noodles: Yeon Makchang Dangye
Yeon Makchang Dangye Branch is a makchang (grilled beef intestine) and cold-sliced pork belly restaurant in Dangye-dong, Wonju, across from the Lotteria. One basic makchang serving, one special makchang serving and two servings of cold pork belly came with icy yeolmu (young radish) mak-guksu noodles, country-style doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and a palate-cleansing slush to finish. The makchang had no off smell and was crisp outside and tender inside, and instead of the usual three-serving makchang minimum the kitchen accepted two makchang plus two pork belly, which makes Yeon Makchang easy for a party of two.
