Private caravan stay in Yeongwol with barbecue: Deo Swim

One night with our family of four in Deo Swim's X6 room

Our family of four visited and booked X6. The moment we stepped inside, rather than feeling like the exterior of a private caravan pension in Yeongwol, it felt like a hotel with an incredible view. The lush green scene through the front picture window soothed our tired eyes.

X6 is designed for four guests, with two queen beds placed side by side with the green-filled window.

There are various charging options between the beds, so there is less hassle of having to bring your own.

There is even aurora lighting, and when we turned it on at night, it felt like we did not need to go out separately to see the stars, you know?

Actually haha, it was cloudy on the day we visited, so I was disappointed that we could not see the stars. But Grandma loved it, saying, “All the stars are right here~.”

There is an LG TV directly opposite the beds, so we put on Grandma's drama series.

Meanwhile, as someone who looooves the healing that nature brings, I was too busy marveling at the view beyond the window.

Amenities prepared in the kitchen and bathroom

The kitchen has a refrigerator, plus a water purifier and coffee machine on the four-person dining table.

I made myself a morning coffee the next day, and you really should enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee in the mountains. There are cutting boards, pots, trays, and every dish you need (including cute little plates for babies), so you can come light without packing this and that.

The bathroom, which felt more like a stylish stay than a caravan itself, was convenient because its sink and shower were separate. There is a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, but you need to bring other items yourself, such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, shower towel, and curling iron.

There is even a Himpel HueZent bathroom ventilation system, so the bathroom stays comfortable after a shower.

There is also an air purifier and four pairs of slippers. It felt like this was a stay built by asking, “What might be inconvenient from a guest's perspective?” Every space was satisfying during our visit.

Dinner with a mountain view at the private barbecue area

That day, we did not feel like going out and wanted to fully enjoy the healing nature provides, so

we bought groceries at Hanaro Mart Yeongwol Branch and ate meat at the private barbecue area. 📍The barbecue costs ₩35,000. They said charcoal can be refilled if it runs low while grilling, so you can enjoy your barbecue without worrying about the fire going out.

How could meat eaten while looking at the mountain scenery possibly not be delicious!?

Three complexes and shared facilities

Deo Swim (영월 더 쉼), a private caravan pension in Yeongwol, is made up of three complexes. From the top down,

- Complex 1: X1–X4

- Complex 2: X5–X9

- Complex 3: X10–X12, plus the store. Each complex also has its own recycling area, so you do not need to walk far.

Besides the private barbecue areas, there is also a shared barbecue area where you can have a spacious outdoor meal.

The large artificial-turf yard just below has mini soccer goals, a basketball hoop, and ride-on scooters, making this a great Yeongwol family stay to visit with children.

The unmanned store in Complex 3 sells a variety of snacks, frozen foods, alcohol, and more.

You can also borrow board games for free so you will not get bored,

and you can freely use salt, pepper, sesame oil, and more, so there is no need to prepare barbecue seasonings separately. (If you like ssamjang, a Korean savory dipping paste, you will need to bring it.)

When evening comes and it gets dark, the lights turn on, and you can feel Deo Swim's charm even more.

The air was so nice that we took a walk to the store, bought ice cream, and ate it in our room. (📍Hours: until 10 PM)

A day of resting in nature without worrying about bugs

We said how nice it was several times during our stay, and even after checking out, we talked with family for quite a while about how truly lovely the accommodation had been. We were really satisfied.

Above all, I worried about bugs because it is in the mountains, but CESCO pest control is in place, and we barely saw any bugs during our stay.

I would recommend this Yeongwol pension to anyone wanting to leave the city behind and rest completely, without a worry, at a nature-friendly mountain stay.
