This time I'm introducing a Hyehwa Station favorite, a Daehangno izakaya bar known for skewers and oden — Hanamato Daehangno Hyehwa.

Outside Hanamato: where are the outdoor tables?
Hanamato Daehangno Hyehwa is a 2-minute walk from Exit 4 of Hyehwa Station. There's a bar counter outside on the first floor for outdoor seating, and the second floor also feels open, so it has that outdoor-drinking vibe too.
On the way to Hanamato after watching a play in Daehangno — it was an unusually clear autumn day. I didn't know Daehangno could look this good. Maybe it's the weather, but the street looked so pretty.
Just a 2-minute walk from Hyehwa Station Exit 4, Hanamato Daehangno Hyehwa. It has that real hidden-gem feel from the outside. The second floor is open enough to feel like outdoor seating.

The Japanese vibe hits right from the entrance. The draft beer looks so good 😋 I've really gotten into draft beer lately.
Inside Hanamato: counter seats and second-floor window seats
The first floor of Hanamato has a counter bar and 4-person tables. A nice-feeling izakaya counter.
I wanted to sit by the window on the second floor to get that outdoor feel, but the second floor was still being set up when we visited, so we couldn't 🥲 The second floor has more tables, and that window seat especially has great openness — real outdoor-drinking vibes. Looks like a great spot to watch Daehangno through the window.
Hanamato's interior has great atmosphere. It makes the skewers and food feel even more Japanese somehow. The whole place looked clean and well-kept, and the open kitchen visible from the counter seats especially looked very well managed. It's a skewer place, but the kitchen was sparkling — you could feel the owner's attention to cleanliness 👍
Hanamato's menu: skewers and oden ordered à la carte
Hanamato has such a wide range of menu items. It was nice that you could order skewers individually, and oden individually too. There were plenty of izakaya menu items I'd never seen before.

First, the draft beer and highball. The drinks here are such good value. Draft beer and highball for 4,900 won each — such a great bar for the price 👍 And the Sapporo draft was really delicious too.
Five kinds of oden, a nice variety. Nice that you can add individual pieces too.
The personal oden bar right at the table. Had great atmosphere and felt really nice. As it gets colder, this Hanamato is probably going to be an amazing oden spot.
Skewers grilling to perfection. This place is a real yakitori spot. There's a fun in watching the skewers grill from the counter seats. And you can see the kitchen from there too — they seem to keep it really well managed 👍
The soy-glazed mochi skewer came out while the skewers were grilling. It's grilled rice cake simmered in soy sauce. The rice cake itself is delicious 😊 and the soy glaze here seems really good. Next time I should try the beef tendon simmer.
Skewers arrive. Beautifully grilled skewers, this yakitori spot Hanamato. Every skewer was good, but I especially loved the beef heart and chicken wing skewers.
Added an extra order of bacon-tomato and beef heart skewers. That seems to be one of Hanamato's strengths — being able to order in small amounts is so nice 😊
Is Hanamato in Hyehwa worth it? Final verdict
A Daehangno izakaya near Hyehwa Station, a yakitori spot with delicious oden and skewers, and Hanamato Daehangno Hyehwa where you can drink outdoors. It's a great-value izakaya to visit for an autumn date in Daehangno during outdoor-drinking season. The place was so clean, the staff were kind, the oden and skewers were delicious, and the draft beer was perfect too 👍 If you're looking for a date-night bar around Hyehwa Station in Daehangno, I recommend Hanamato.
