Hi everyone~ When you travel to Jeju, you just have to have a hearty, spicy Korean meal with sweet-and-spicy braised hairtail (galchi-jorim) to really feel like you're on vacation, right? 🐟❤️ While exploring the Seongsan area, I found a place people rave about for its generous full-table spread and amazing hairtail, so I went!

I'm sharing my honest visit review of Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon (제주로운청해원), a real Seongsan favorite, where I could visit with my sweetheart Haengun-i, who snuggled right into her carrier! 💕
Is Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon in Seongsan dog-friendly?
Yes, Jejurowoon is a Seongsan restaurant where you can bring your dog inside in a carrier (cage). The interior is really clean and spacious too, and I was so happy to find it while looking for good Korean food around Seongsan! 🐾🏡

There are 4-person tables, and you can push tables together for group meals, so it looks great for visiting with a bigger party too 👍

And thankfully, since dogs are allowed, Haengun-i came in comfortably in her carrier, and we could enjoy dinner without worrying about anyone's side-eye 🐶💕
What's in the Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon set menu?

The menu is divided into sets A, B, C and D, and in each you can pick your main from braised hairtail, mackerel kimchi stew, grilled tilefish or stir-fried black pork (dooru-chigi).

Of course we ordered the spicy braised hairtail set! (You can choose between seafood ttukbaegi stew and sea urchin seaweed soup as the soup, and we picked the seafood ttukbaegi for extra spicy kick 🍲)
Not long after ordering, a table so full it looked ready to collapse arrived! Five neat Korean side dishes, plus soy-marinated crab, grilled tilefish, seafood stew, and nutty sticky pot rice. I honestly gasped 😭

How were the grilled tilefish and soy-marinated crab?
What totally won me over in the hairtail set were the grilled tilefish (okdom) and the soy-marinated crab!

The tilefish was so plump and nutty that my husband and I cleaned it down to the bones, leaving only the head, haha. The soy crab was salty-savory with zero fishy taste, a perfect rice thief 💯

The seafood stew was hearty with a good broth too!!
How was the braised hairtail at Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon?
The braised hairtail wasn't just aggressively spicy; the sauce was packed with savory depth, perfect for mixing into rice! The real highlight was the well-braised radish, soaked in the sauce and melting in your mouth 😭🌶️
I put plump, tender hairtail on rice, topped it with mashed radish and mixed it all up, and a bowl of rice vanished in no time 🍚
I also scooped rice out of the nutty sticky pot rice and made nurungji (scorched rice) with the rest, and it was a perfect meal that warmed me through ✨

Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon: overall verdict

Beyond the fresh, tasty braised hairtail, the grilled tilefish, soy crab, seafood stew and sticky pot rice made the set a really solid, great-value spread. Best of all, I could enjoy delicious Korean food with my beloved Haengun-i without worrying about anyone, so I was totally satisfied 💕
If you're looking for a hearty, tasty Seongsan hairtail meal on this Jeju trip, do stop by Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon! You won't regret it 👏
