Anyang Vietnamese restaurant, dinner at a name-tag table: Pho Witch

In short

Pho Witch is a Vietnamese pho restaurant near the Pyeongchon academy-district food alley in Anyang, Gyeonggi. After booking a dinner visit, the writer found a name tag waiting on the reserved table and ordered the 30,000-won Siblings Set (2 spring rolls, pad thai, Siblings' Special beef pho and a drink), with the rich beef-broth pho as the highlight. For a Vietnamese restaurant in Pyeongchon with parking right out front, Pho Witch is a good choice.

I was craving pho for dinner yesterday, so I headed to Pho Witch in the Pyeongchon academy district. If you like Vietnamese food, this is a must-visit! It's near the academy-district food alley, so I had high expectations, and I left just as satisfied. It's a great pho spot in Anyang.

Pho Witch location, hours and parking

Pho Witch is at 61-27 Gwiin-ro 190beon-gil, Dongan-gu, Anyang, on the first floor, and it's open daily from 11:00 to 21:00. There's room for about 4–5 cars in front of the restaurant.

Honestly, the Pyeongchon academy district is a place where it's best not to bring a car. But when you're going with friends or kids, you often have to, and Pho Witch has parking for about 5–6 cars right in front, so getting there by car was really easy.

Pho Witch interior and atmosphere

Inside, Pho Witch has soft pink and blue walls and plants everywhere, so it feels like a local restaurant in Vietnam. It really gave me the feeling of having traveled to Vietnam and sat down in a restaurant there.

The walls are accented in soft pink and blue, and there are so many lush green plants: big pots, trailing vines, little potted ones... It has a real Vietnam vibe. The lighting is soft and the tables are nicely spaced, so it was easy to chat.

The front table has Vietnamese coffee, sauces and takeout cups, so you can finish your meal the Vietnamese way too.

Maybe because I had reserved, they gave me a cozy seat. They had even made a name tag for the reserved table, which put me in a good mood from the moment I walked in.

Pho Witch menu and the ₩30,000 Siblings Set

The Pho Witch menu is made up of pho, stir-fried dishes and other sides. What caught my eye most was the king beef rib pho!! I ordered a set this time so I couldn't try it, but next time I'm going for the king beef rib pho.

I ordered a set menu that covers pho, a stir-fried dish, a side and a drink. For ₩30,000 it was a nice varied spread.

How is the pad thai at Pho Witch?

The pad thai at Pho Witch has thick rice noodles loaded with shrimp and vegetables, and the sauce isn't strong, so even people who can't handle spice can eat it without worry.

Pho Witch pad thai topped with shrimp and ground peanuts

Thick rice noodles come piled with shrimp, bean sprouts, cabbage, carrots and onion. It's topped with crispy garlic chips, ground peanuts and chopped scallions, so the textures were really varied. The sauce isn't strong and soaks in subtly, so even people who can't eat spicy food can enjoy it. The shrimp were plump and the noodles chewy, so I kept going back for more.

Siblings' Special beef pho: how is the broth?

The Siblings' Special beef pho was the highlight of this visit to Pho Witch. It has a rich beef broth with plenty of thinly sliced beef.

This was the real highlight! Thinly sliced beef is generously piled into the rich beef broth, topped with bean sprouts, onion and scallions.

The broth was really deep and clean-tasting. It's exactly the flavor you get eating pho in Vietnam! The beef was tender and melted in my mouth with the broth, and I finished every last drop of soup.

Pho Witch spring rolls and peanut sauce

The spring rolls at Pho Witch are the fresh style, with meat and vegetables packed inside rice paper, and the point is dipping them in the peanut sauce that comes alongside.

These were fresh spring rolls full of all kinds of vegetables. The rice paper is packed with meat, carrots, bean sprouts and lettuce, so one bite gives you the crunchy vegetables and the meat flavor. Dipped in the peanut sauce that came with them, they were truly excellent! It's so nutty that I kept dipping again and again.

Pho Witch in the Pyeongchon academy district: who is it for?

I loved that you can eat properly good Vietnamese food in Pyeongchon. The prices are reasonable and the portions generous, so it's perfect for students who attend the academies, families, or friends. I strongly recommend it when you want a full Vietnamese spread in a cozy, plant-filled space. If you want a real Vietnam-trip feeling in the Pyeongchon academy district, give it a try.
