Why Nopo Dwaeji Aewol was the best black pork of a two-week Jeju stay
During my two-week stay in Jeju, I ate black pork at several places. Of all of them, this one stands out as the clear number one. The pork is properly aged in a professionally managed aging room, and maybe that's why the rich juiciness and tender texture were just art.
On top of that, it's a great spot near Gwakji Beach, so it worked well with our travel route too. It's a good stop before or after enjoying the beach, and after dinner we even caught the beautiful sunset at Gwakji Beach. Getting to eat delicious black pork and enjoy Jeju's sea and sunset together — I really loved that :)

Pre-seared and grilled by staff — how does the geun-gogi taste?

Doesn't it just look amazing from the visual alone?!

The aged black pork geun-gogi came pre-seared, so it didn't take long to finish grilling at the table either.

Best of all, a staff member grilled it deliciously from start to finish, so all we had to do was wait comfortably and eat!!

Grilling the aged black pork to its most delicious state let us really taste the juiciness and flavor.

The rich meaty aroma and savory flavor filling my mouth were just so good. The outside was seared golden brown with a chewy texture still intact, while the inside held plenty of moist juices for a soft, deep flavor.

Especially fitting for aged black pork, the meat was tender yet the distinct pork flavor was strong and rich, adding to that savory finish!!

I wanted to eat more, but my wife talked me out of it, so we wrapped up there, though a bit reluctantly. Seriously, seriously good, we ate so well :)
Final thoughts: book a table before you go
Out of all the black pork I ate during my two-week stay in Jeju, and honestly out of every restaurant I visited, this is hands down number one!! The rich juiciness, tender texture, and deep flavor of the aged black pork — I ate so well. Even now, back home, I still keep thinking about the geun-gogi I couldn't order more of;;
