Suwon Chinese restaurant: duck in pancakes, roasted bones, Gang's Duck

Let me introduce Gang's Duck (갱스덕) in Ingye-dong, a Suwon City Hall favorite for Peking duck and dongpo-yuk :)

This was a special Chinese restaurant date in Ingye-dong! My husband and I love Chinese food, but this time, instead of plain jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) or jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), we went to Gang's Duck, a Suwon spot where you can try Peking duck and dongpo-yuk.

If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant with a good atmosphere in Ingye-dong, or want a date with something special on the menu, this is the place I'd recommend^^

Where is Gang's Duck? Near Exit 6 of Suwon City Hall Station

Gang's Duck is at 46-9 Hyowon-ro 249beon-gil, Paldal-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi, on the 1st floor, about 328 m from Exit 6 of Suwon City Hall Station. It's close to the station, so it's easy to get to.

It's a handy location if you're looking for a good restaurant around Suwon City Hall or Ingye-dong, and it works for everything from lunch to a dinner date.

What's the atmosphere like at Gang's Duck? A Chinese restaurant with red lighting

With its red lighting and stylish interior, Gang's Duck has a charm that's a little different from an ordinary neighborhood Chinese place. The red lights you see as you walk in create that distinctive Chinese restaurant mood.

I was especially impressed by the area where they prepare the Peking duck, and I was already getting excited before the food came out.

It's great for a date over good food with my husband, and it would suit a special dinner with friends too.

Gang's Duck's signature Peking duck: what does the table setting look like?

The first thing that comes to mind at Gang's Duck is the Peking duck!!! It's not an easy dish to find, so I was even more excited.

Just from the photos, the ducks hanging up looked so delicious.. haha. I love duck skin... The atmosphere was so good that I thought, it would be really lovely here at dinner time :) I had booked ahead, and I was so grateful they made it such a special setting :)

This is the table setting at Gang's Duck with the side vegetables, sauce and basic side dishes that come with the Peking duck!!! The crunchy cucumber and sharp shredded scallions bring out the richness of the duck, and with the sweet sauce the savory flavor was really good.

A neat basic spread that's a perfect match for Peking duck :) Even before the food came out, the table setting was so tidy that I really liked it. The plates with blue patterns and the orange guide card together gave it an upscale Chinese restaurant feel.

You order at Gang's Duck by kiosk, and there's a lunch menu too. Oh!!! I thought I could come eat here on my lunch break from work haha.

While making the Naver reservation, we browsed the menu the night before to decide what to eat!! haha Half a Peking duck, and either chili shrimp or a dongpo-yuk rice bowl haha. We studied it hard anyway~!

After looking over the many dishes, my husband and I chatted about this and that while waiting for the food! My husband's eyebrow color.. how on earth do I get that fixed;

How were the dongpo-yuk rice dish and egg soup?

A dish just as impressive as the Peking duck at Gang's Duck was the rice dish topped with dongpo-yuk!

It came in a big bowl with glossy meat, egg, scallions and vegetables in lots of colors, and it looked so pretty. The meat coated in a deep brown sauce looked tender just to look at, and with rice the salty-sweet flavor went together well.

The broth with softly swirled egg was easy to eat, and a spoonful between bites of the richly seasoned meat went well. The combination of dishes worked overall, so my husband and I had a hearty meal.

In particular, the egg and vegetables softened the deep flavor of the meat, so it was well balanced. Mixing the ingredients together gave a variety of textures in every spoonful.

My husband also said this dish was really good and ate it happily. If you're looking for dongpo-yuk in Suwon, I think this special meat dish is worth trying.

How is the half Peking duck at Gang's Duck? Crispy and juicy duck in thin pancakes

What stayed with me most while eating the Peking duck at Gang's Duck was the variety of textures. Not only the juicy duck meat but also crisply cooked parts of the duck, which made it extra special.

The signature Peking duck came neatly arranged on a red plate, and the glossy skin caught my eye right away! One bite and the savory flavor of the outer skin and the mild meat inside went together so well.

Putting duck and vegetables on a thin pancake (jeonbyeong) and adding sauce was such a delicious combination!

This is the dish my husband and I kept saying was really delicious as we wrapped it piece by piece.

If you like Peking duck or want to try a different kind of Chinese dish, I think you'll be satisfied. My husband kept wrapping them up so well and peeling off the thin pancakes for me to eat! Even if it feels like a hassle, be sure to wrap it and eat it^^

Crispy duck bones and the price of half a duck

The duck bone part looked crispy and savory on the outside, so it whetted my appetite from the look alone! The crunch plus the rich flavor made it a real treat. I felt that being able to enjoy duck in so many ways is the charm of Gang's Duck^^

The happiness of half a Peking duck for ₩39,000.. If one more person joins, or you want something more filling, I think a whole duck would be fine too!!

Eating it wrapped felt really healthy, and every dish looked so good that taking photos was fun too.

The savory Peking duck and the deep flavor of the dongpo-yuk really stay with me. The food looks amazing, right(?)

I love duck skin so much that my husband asks, "Should I order duck skin online and make it for you every day?" But I'm like, no~ I'll come here and eat it happily haha.

My husband always orders the extra-large jokbal (braised pig's trotters) and turns the leftovers into a kind of jokbal bibimbap the next day, and this had a bit of that feeling, but it was much fresher and tastier!!

Roasted duck bones you keep reaching for

The roasted bones at Gang's Duck were also more unusual than I expected, with a flavor you keep reaching for.

Dongdong hard at work gnawing the bones haha. My husband is so used to chewing chicken drumsticks,, and he loved it and said it was delicious, so we should come back for special anniversaries ♥

I loved that I could spend a lovely time with my husband over good food at Gang's Duck! If you're looking for a good restaurant in Suwon, Ingye-dong or around Suwon City Hall, why not enjoy a special Chinese meal at Gang's Duck?
