Jungnang Korean restaurant: pick-me-up gondre rice with Mom, Sanchaega
Sanchaega Hanjeongsik Meokgol Main Branch is a cauldron-rice Korean set-meal restaurant in Muk-dong, Jungnang, Seoul, near Exit 5 of Meokgol Station on Line 7. On a low-energy day, the writer and their mom ordered Sanchaega's signature basic gondre (Korean thistle) cauldron rice set, waited about 15 minutes, and ate freshly cooked pot rice with doenjang (soybean paste) stew, grilled flounder, more than 10 banchan (side dishes) and sungnyung (scorched-rice tea). Sanchaega's gondre cauldron rice set is a mild, home-style meal satisfying enough that the writer wants to bring their parents back.
