Bibimbap restaurant near Gwacheon Station for Chuseok lunch: Bibisam

Over the Chuseok holiday I went to Bibisam (비비삼), a bibimbap spot near Gwacheon Station and a great Gwacheon lunch place!

What is Bibisam Gwacheon Main Branch, and is there parking?

Bibisam Gwacheon Main Branch (비비삼 과천본점) is a torim bibimbap restaurant on Saesulmak-gil in Gwacheon, serving bibimbap, a classic Korean dish. They can't really offer parking of their own, so park in a nearby public parking lot! I parked and walked over, haha.

Bibimbap is a uniquely Korean dish, right~? The name Bibisam comes from the phrase "mix the colors of Korea" (한국의 색을 비비삼) :)

Arrived at Bibisam, my Gwacheon lunch pick! It looks clean from the outside, so good vibes~

Looks like a bibimbap place with waiting lines..!! I bet lots of Gwacheon office workers come to Bibisam for lunch, haha. It feels like a proper favorite, so I was even more excited+_+ Luckily I didn't have to wait and got in right away!

Bibisam is where you go for traditional Korean bibimbap.

I liked that the kitchen isn't hidden away but is an open kitchen you can see into. As a customer, it felt more trustworthy, you know~?

Here's the interior. The place isn't huge, but I think it's fine for coming in a bigger group too!!

Is Bibisam self-service?

According to the guide at this torim bibimbap restaurant, rice comes with your meal, and you help yourself to soup and side dishes at the self-serve corner!

They run serving and returning trays as self-service, which lets them offer tasty food more cheaply, and I like that approach~

If you order a set at Bibisam Gwacheon Main Branch, you get bibimbap plus a fried egg and tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patty). Sets run from ₩12,500 to ₩15,500.

Bibisam's Chuseok scratch event: a prize even if you lose?

When I visited, Bibisam was running a Chuseok (Korean harvest holiday) scratch event!! Go ahead and scratch~

And the Chuseok scratch result is~~~~? Heart pounding,, sadly, "better luck next time."

But apparently there's a prize even if you get "better luck next time"! What luck.. You collect the prize at Dongyang Solbap Gwacheon branch. The pen I got writes smoothly, which I love~

Before the food came out, I had the broth from the self-serve corner, and it was so good, not salty and nice and warm.

How is Bibisam's stone-pot octopus roe rice set (₩15,500)?

The stone-pot octopus roe rice set is ₩15,500 and generously packed with roe. See how full of roe it is..!!

If you order the set, it comes with Hanbon pork tteokgalbi and a fried egg. But since it's roe rice in a stone pot, I thought I could press it into scorched rice (nurungji) at the bottom, and it didn't work that way ㅠㅠ I wish it had been a bit hotter too!

How is Bibisam's Hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap set (₩14,500)?

The Hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap set is ₩14,500 and generously packed with vegetables. The rice is laid underneath!

I ordered the set, so it came with a protein-boosting fried egg and tteokgalbi sauce~ Really delicious.

Doesn't the yukhoe look super fresh? Totally red, red yukhoe. As you can see, it's so tasty haha.
