Yangyang sashimi shop by Solbeach, ₩50,000 beach dinner: Eosiljang
In short
Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout (어실장 회포장) is a takeout- and reservation-only raw fish shop near Solbeach in Sonyang-myeon, Yangyang, Gangwon. On a Sunday evening, the writer picked up a ₩50,000 set of fresh sashimi with sea squirt, abalone, sea snail and shrimp from Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout and ate it on a picnic mat at Solbeach to the sound of the waves. Skipping garnish like shredded radish to focus on portion size and freshness, Eosiljang is good value amid tourist-area prices.

How was everyone's May Golden Week holiday? This weekend I took a romantic, relaxing trip to Yangyang.

Whenever I come to Yangyang, fresh East Sea sashimi is a must. Usually I eat it comfortably in my accommodation, but this time I wanted a special Sunday evening, so I spread a mat on Solbeach and had a wonderful dinner listening to the waves.

I'm sharing my honest review of Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout (어실장 회포장), a good-value takeout spot that's famous among regular Yangyang visitors and locals, where an owner with 15 years of experience slices the fish himself, plus a record of our romantic outdoor picnic! 👇
Where is Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout, and what are its hours?
Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout is at 18 Osan-gil, Sonyang-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do, and it's a takeout-and-reservation-only shop open daily from 15:00 to 22:00 (no eating inside). It sits in a quiet, relaxed neighborhood right next to Solbeach, Yangyang's best-known resort.

- Hours: daily 15:00 - 22:00

Good to know: hours and the available fish can change depending on the day's catch. The shop is so popular that there are takeout customers on weekdays and weekends alike, so I strongly recommend calling ahead to check the reservation situation!

How close is it to Solbeach for a mat-on-the-sand sashimi dinner?
Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout is just a 5-minute walk from Solbeach, so you can carry your sashimi straight to the sand. That easy access is one of its biggest strengths.

You pick it up and head straight to the beach, with the freshly cut sashimi still at its freshest.

On Sunday evening we spread our mat on the sand, with the reddening sky and the cool East Sea as our backdrop.

The waves were our background music and the cool sea breeze wrapped around us. Honestly, it was total relaxation that any fancy restaurant would envy. Solbeach itself is peaceful and beautiful, but the breakwater area near Eosiljang is a spot you shouldn't miss either! If you're staying at a nearby resort or campground, I recommend picking up sashimi here in the evening.

Drinking snacks plus a night sea is simply perfect. 😮
What's in the set? No garnish, just sashimi
The sashimi here comes without showy garnishes like shredded radish or cheonsachae (clear seaweed noodles); it seems to focus purely on the quality and quantity of the fish itself. To keep everything fresh,

the ice pack they included is not a hard-to-dispose chemical gel but an eco-friendly one made of 100% frozen water, so it felt good throwing it away. The owner's thoughtfulness really showed.
The seafood extras in the ₩50,000 set
The ₩50,000 set includes not just sashimi but also sea squirt full of the scent of the sea, and sea snail with a crunchy texture,

one whole abalone sashimi, and chewy sea snail and boiled shrimp as well,

all in generous amounts. It's hard to believe the price is ₩50,000; it's the best value I've seen amid tourist-area prices.

Springy, sweet sashimi
The basics, flatfish and rockfish, have very firm flesh, and the more you chew, the more the fish's clean flavor and subtle sweetness come through. It melts softly as you chew yet stays springy, a quality that even picky sashimi eaters would praise from the first bite.
The seasonal fish had just the right amount of fat, and the nutty richness filled my mouth.
Plenty of sauces and wraps
Eosiljang gives you plenty of chojang, wasabi, soy sauce and nutty ssamjang. Seaweed and fresh lettuce for wrapping the sashimi come too, so you can enjoy it in different combinations without ever getting bored.
Worth a stop near Solbeach, Seolhaewon and Naksansa in Yangyang?
Eosiljang Sashimi Takeout is within 10 minutes of major sights like Solbeach Resort, Seolhaewon and Naksansa Temple, so it fits perfectly into a route.

Thanks to a plate packed with freshness, the memories of this Yangyang trip became even more romantic and delicious.
I sincerely and strongly recommend it to anyone who wants a cozy late-night meal in their room, or, like me, wants proper sashimi with the charm of the night sea at the beach or a campground. When you come to Yangyang, don't hesitate and give it a visit! 🧡
