Korean BBQ by open windows in Magok: brisket samhap, Chadol Grill
In short
Chadol Grill Magok is a brisket-focused Korean BBQ restaurant near Exit 3 of Magok Station in Gangseo, Seoul. After work on a Monday, the writer and a younger sibling shared 3 servings of aged brisket samhap (₩16,000 per serving), wrapping it with myeongi namul (pickled wild garlic leaves) and mustard leaf kimchi, then finished with brisket doenjang rice (₩8,000), a soybean-paste rice stew. With its big windows thrown open for an open-air feel, Chadol Grill Magok works well for a casual meat dinner or a group or work get-together.

The other day I met up with my younger sister after work and we healed ourselves at Chadol Grill in Magok, wrapping up brisket and even scallops~ It was so good that I just had to tell you about it!
Where is Chadol Grill Magok?
Chadol Grill Magok is right by Exit 3 of Magok Station, so it's really easy to get to! It's not far from the station, and with Balsan and Magok full of offices, it looked like a great place to drop in on your way home from work.

The location is also great for company dinners in Magok, so it works well for get-togethers, haha.

Above all, the food is tasty and the prices aren't a burden, so it feels like anyone can go without worrying~~
What's the atmosphere inside Chadol Grill Magok like?

Chadol Grill Magok is a trendy, modern Korean BBQ place with an open-air street-pub (yajang) vibe. You feel it the second you walk in >ㅇ<

The big windows are thrown wide open, so the ventilation is really good, and on a nice day it almost feels like eating outdoors. Lovely atmosphere +ㅇ+

It doesn't have that stuffy feeling Korean BBQ places usually have, and the smoky smell is less of a bother, so it was a comfortable spot for an evening meal in Magok!
Chadol Grill Magok menu and prices

As the name says, Chadol Grill specializes in chadol (beef brisket), with a range of brisket dishes from aged brisket at ₩17,000 to 1++ hanwoo (top-grade Korean beef) brisket yukhoe ssam (raw beef wraps) at ₩39,000.
- 1++ hanwoo brisket yukhoe ssam (₩39,000)
- Aged brisket samhap (₩16,000)
- Marinated brisket ribs (₩18,000)
- Aged brisket (₩17,000)

From plain brisket to samhap, yukhoe ssam and marinated cuts, the lineup is a real connoisseur's one, so it's not just eating meat but enjoying it in combinations!

It was our first visit, so we ordered the aged brisket samhap (a three-way combo of brisket, scallop and sides), and 3 servings for two people was just right^ ^ We were both hungry and ate a lot that day, haha.
How was the aged brisket samhap?

The aged brisket samhap (₩16,000) at Chadol Grill Magok comes thinly sliced, so you can eat it right off the grill, and it melted in my mouth >_<

It's a fatty cut, but maybe because it's aged?? It tasted nutty and clean rather than greasy, so I never got tired of it, and we wrapped it up with scallop! Yum yum

Side dishes that come with the samhap
The side dishes at Chadol Grill Magok are surprisingly good, haha. These came with the samhap.
- Seasoned fresh kimchi (geotjeori)
- Myeongi namul (pickled wild greens)
- Pickled chili and garlic
- Mustard leaf kimchi (gat kimchi)
- Sliced onion

Eaten together with the brisket and scallop, they keep cutting the richness, so it's a combo you don't get sick of right to the end +ㅇ+

The myeongi namul and mustard leaf kimchi especially go so well with brisket, giving you a little reset in between, so I kept eating…!

As a proper food nerd, I loved that it felt far more varied than just eating plain brisket ><
Finishing with brisket doenjang rice

The brisket doenjang rice (doenjang is fermented soybean paste) at Chadol Grill Magok is ₩8,000. It was a really hot day, but it looked so good I couldn't resist ordering it!! Totally the right choice!!!
With a savory doenjang base and brisket and rice all in one, it's the perfect way to end a meat meal ㅠㅠ It even felt a bit like a hangover cure, so it's like a must-have final course, haha.
Is Chadol Grill Magok worth going back to?

As an evening spot in Magok, Chadol Grill seems like a place anyone who likes brisket will be happy with~~ Brisket plus scallop plus side dishes completes the samhap so you don't get tired of it, and with the big windows and open-air feel it somehow feels hip, haha.
It was Monday so I wasn't going to drink beer, but I couldn't avoid it, lol

We visited around 7:30 pm on a Monday and it was surprisingly busy~? Lots of people were drinking too. I guess it's that popular as an evening spot in Magok. Anyway, I'd totally go back!!
It's good for a casual meat meal, and since the meat cooks fast I'd also recommend it for get-togethers or company dinners, and the atmosphere is nice too, so give it a look~~
