Korean BBQ after a Moran Market date: seaweed naengmyeon, Mat Chandeul
In short
Mat Chandeul Wang Sogeum Gui Moran Branch is an aged raw pork BBQ restaurant right outside Exit 4 of Moran Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. After a date at Moran Market, the writer and partner ordered one serving each of aged pork belly (16,000 won), pork neck (16,000 won) and pork jowl (17,000 won), plus kimchi-mari guksu (cold kimchi noodles) and bibim naengmyeon with seaweed noodles (6,000 won each), and the staff grilled the meat for them. Varied side dishes, including muksabal (acorn jelly soup), and the staff's tip to wrap the pork with grilled aged kimchi, shredded chili and wasabi kept the Mat Chandeul meal from feeling greasy to the last bite.

Where is Mat Chandeul Moran Branch for Korean BBQ after a Moran Market date?
Mat Chandeul Wang Sogeum Gui Moran Branch (맛찬들왕소금구이 모란점) is right outside Exit 4 of Moran Station and is open daily from 12:00 to 23:00. After a date at Moran Market with my partner I was starving and picked the menu in a rush: samgyeopsal (pork belly), which is always a good idea! We'd been to Mat Chandeul's Moran branch before, so we came back. It's right by Moran Station, so it's super easy to get to for Moran pork belly.

Atmosphere and seating at Mat Chandeul Moran Branch
Mat Chandeul opens at 12, so it's a good Moran pork belly spot for lunch too. The tables are nicely spaced, so you can eat in a quiet, comfortable atmosphere.
It works for family meals of up to four, dates, or dinners with friends, and there's separate group seating, so it's also perfect for company dinners.

What's on the menu at Mat Chandeul Wang Sogeum Gui?
The main menu is aged raw pork, and you can choose the cut you like: pork belly, neck, skirt meat (galmaegisal), diaphragm-edge cut (donchimassal), jowl and more. You really taste the freshness and juiciness of the meat.
There are plenty of accompaniments and side dishes, so you don't get bored before the end. They also have cauldron rice (gamasot-bap), which makes it a nice place to bring your parents ❤️

Set menus cost less than ordering à la carte, so I really recommend them for a family meal out. They also have non-alcoholic beer, which makes this a good Moran pork belly place for company dinners with people who don't drink.
If you do the Naver review event, you get grilling cheese for free 👍 If you like cheese, try wrapping it up with the meat, haha.

Do the side dishes at Mat Chandeul include muksabal (acorn jelly soup)?
Yes, at Mat Chandeul Moran Branch even muksabal (chilled acorn jelly soup) is included with the side dishes, and they grind two kinds of salt separately for you. I think the side dishes are one of Mat Chandeul's strengths, because there are really a lot of them to eat with the meat.

They grind two kinds of salt for you, too. Between eating the side dishes and dipping in the seasonings, you almost run out of meat, haha.

Even the muksabal is included with the side dishes!!
Whenever I come to Mat Chandeul, I feel like I'm really getting my money's worth from the side dishes... 😂

Pork belly, neck and jowl: one serving each for two
The two of us ordered one serving each of aged raw pork belly, aged raw pork neck and aged raw pork jowl, plus kimchi noodles and bibim naengmyeon. We couldn't decide which meat to get, so we tried one of each, and since it was hot out we were craving cold noodles and naengmyeon, so we ordered whatever we felt like.
- Aged raw pork belly ₩16,000
- Aged raw pork neck ₩16,000
- Aged raw pork jowl ₩17,000
- Kimchi noodles ₩6,000
- Bibim naengmyeon ₩6,000
Even as one serving, the meat is really thick, and they gave us rice cake and potato add-ons too. The two of us left totally full!!

I trust the meat at Mat Chandeul!! Anyone can see how fresh it looks.

Does Mat Chandeul Moran Branch grill the meat for you?
Yes, the staff at Mat Chandeul Moran Branch grill the meat for you. This grilling service is another of its strengths, and they really do grill it well.

While the meat was grilling, my partner and I inhaled the naengmyeon and noodles. We were hot and hungry from wandering around Moran Market, so we left the meat to the staff and just ate away.

Kimchi-mari guksu or seaweed-noodle bibim naengmyeon: which to order?
If you visit Mat Chandeul, definitely order the kimchi noodles (₩6,000). The portion is big, it's cold and refreshing, and the noodles are chewy!! It's a taste I keep thinking about ❤️ Especially if you visit in hot weather, I'd say one bowl is a must-order side.

If you don't like regular noodles, go for the bibim naengmyeon! The noodles are made with seaweed, so they have a chewier texture than other naengmyeon. Both the kimchi noodles and the bibim naengmyeon are great with a slice of pork belly on top!!!

The pork belly wrap combo the Mat Chandeul staff recommended
The combo the staff at Mat Chandeul Moran Branch showed us is a wrap of a piece of pork belly on grilled aged kimchi, topped with shredded chili and wasabi. We enjoyed the grilling service, and once the meat was cooked they moved it to one side of the grill and showed us this flavor-combo wrap.

Grill the aged kimchi, put a piece of pork belly on it, then add shredded chili and a bit of wasabi, and wow.. hehe
I understood why they show you themselves. These side dish combos go really well with the savory richness of pork belly fat.
After trying the wrap they showed us, I kept eating it with the shredded chili. It isn't spicy, and it balances the savoriness of the pork belly, so the grease never got heavy.
My partner dipped the meat in hairtail jeotgal (salted fermented fish) and enjoyed it. I liked that there are so many dipping sauces and side dishes that you can eat to your own taste.

Verdict: Mat Chandeul Moran Branch for Korean BBQ near Moran Station
If you want a hearty meal after a date at Moran Market, I recommend Mat Chandeul Moran Branch. You get the juiciness of aged raw pork plus the staff's grilling service, so we could eat it at its best without any effort. The side dishes were varied, so the meal never got boring, and probably because it's aged, the meat was really thick and delicious. It's a taste I'll crave again ❤️

On a hot summer day, ordering a cold bowl of kimchi noodles and eating it with the pork belly is a truly heavenly combo. If you're looking for a pork belly place near Moran Station, give Mat Chandeul Moran Branch a visit 🎉🎉🎉 Seongnam residents can also pay with Seongnam Sarang Pay, so I recommend topping it up beforehand!!
