Goyang perilla kalguksu restaurant on Hoguk-ro: Bongpyeong Gohyang

Bongpyeong Gohyang Makguksu is a makguksu and kalguksu restaurant at 1128 Hoguk-ro in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. The order was perilla kalguksu, a large bibim makguksu and shrimp mandu on the side, with perilla oil drizzled over the noodle water and the two small bowls of barley rice that come with the meal. Plump, chewy buckwheat noodles and ongsimi (chewy dumplings) made this a nutty, easy-going meal with nothing harsh about it.

Hair Onsae is a hair salon in Pungdong, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang, in the Burger King building across from Pungsan Station. Because of dry, frizzy hair, the writer booked a cut and a hair clinic together at Hair Onsae: designer Soyoung trimmed the hair quickly, and the clinic applied up to three treatment steps one by one, with a mist in between. The clinic is done lying down, so it felt closer to a healing session, and the hair came out smooth and bouncy afterwards.
