Suwon brunch café on a hot weekend: mushroom cream soup, Orange Bagel
In short
Orange Bagel is a large New York-style bagel brunch café on Omokcheon-ro in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon. Escaping the heat for a weekend brunch, the writer had a Laugen butter bagel (6,900 won), a chive cream bacon bagel (8,500 won), a mushroom cream soup (8,000 won) and an iced americano, and parked first try in the outdoor lot for about 30 cars. Orange Bagel's bagels and atmosphere were satisfying, but the air conditioning is strong, so bring a cardigan.

Where is Orange Bagel on Ojeoncheon-ro in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon?
Orange Bagel (오렌지베이글) is a New York-style bagel spot at 129 Ojeoncheon-ro, Gwonseon-gu, Suwon, close to Exit 2 of Gosaek Station on the Suin-Bundang Line. It is open 07:30–21:00 (last order 20:30), and there is a large outdoor parking lot that fits about 30 cars.
It's been insanely hot lately, right?.. 💦 Just sitting still, I'm melting, and I really did not want to cook over a flame, so I escaped outside for brunch..🏃🏃♀️🏃♂️ While searching for big cafés nearby, I stopped at 🥯 Orange Bagel, which I keep seeing on Instagram whenever Suwon cafés come up.
The sign stands out from far away, and the puppy-and-orange sign is so cute.

I love that the building, the sign, everything is big and spacious 🤍 The private parking lot is also quite large, so ⭐️I parked in one go with no waiting⭐️ (I tend not to visit places with hard parking, no matter how good they are…). With the red-brick exterior, the big sign and the dachshund mascot painting, it has a strong 🇺🇸 Brooklyn, USA vibe 🗽 (The mascot dog that appears all over the place is named Kevin, apparently.)

What are the interior and second-floor seats like?
The first floor is mostly the ordering area and displays, and the seating is on the second floor. Step inside and, just like the café's name, the signature orange color is everywhere, orange-orange-orange 🍊🍊🍊

The high ceilings and wide space mean nothing feels stuffy, which won me over right away. The second-floor seats are generously spaced, so it's also fine for coming with friends or in a group.

There's a terrace zone, and also group seating separated from the other tables.

Bagel varieties, cream cheeses and even glass wine
Orange Bagel has plenty of bagels, from plain ones to bagels piled with all kinds of toppings, and the cream cheeses to go with them come in lots of flavors too, from orange to honey lemon, basil and blueberry 🧡🤍 Unusually, there were also several kinds of wine by the glass, and come to think of it, wine and bagels might actually be a decent combo?

The first floor also displays lots of merchandise, so it was fun to browse while waiting for my order 🐕🐾

What we ordered for brunch for two, and how it tasted
At Orange Bagel we ordered a Laugen butter bagel, a chive cream bacon bagel, a mushroom cream soup and an iced americano (the nutty option). I swore it was summer and I was dieting so we'd keep it light! And then ordered 2 bagels, a soup and an americano, haha (but I held back a lot, okay…) 🥯🥯🍲☕️

Laugen butter bagel, ₩6,900
🍊 A simple bagel with a slab of butter inside. The outside is chewy and a little salty (Laugen is the pretzel-style bagel), and with the butter's flavor the nuttiness gets richer the more you chew. So good.. (highly recommended)

Chive cream bacon bagel, ₩8,500
🍊 Smooth, nutty cream cheese plus crunchy chives, so it isn't greasy at all, and the salty bacon tucked in between never lets your mouth get bored. My partner picked the Laugen, I picked the chive 🤤
Mushroom cream soup, ₩8,000

🍊 It's nicely thick with a strong mushroom aroma, and delicious. The air conditioning was blasting and I was shivering 🥶, but one spoonful of soup and it warmed me up from the inside. It was also a good match with the bagels.
For the iced americano you can choose between a bright, acidic taste and a nutty one, and it comes in an insulated cup, so it stayed cold the whole time I drank it 🤍🤍
The bagels are good, the atmosphere is good, and there are lots of photo spots. I love it 🧡🧡🧡
