Gwangalli brunch café: Egg in Hell with extra sourdough, Famous Benny
In short
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch is a brunch café that opens at 8 a.m., tucked into an alley in Millak-dong, Suyeong, near Gwangalli Beach in Busan. At Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch we ordered the Egg in Hell (15,000 won), a matcha lemonade and a Colombian hand-drip coffee. The standout was the Egg in Hell: you break the poached eggs and dip olive-oil-toasted sourdough into the sauce. If you order the Egg in Hell, extra sourdough is a must.

I visited Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch (페이머스 베니 광안리점), a brunch café in an alley near Gwangalli Beach where the coffee, the brunch and even the sunshine are delicious!

Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch: hours and parking

Because it opens at 8 a.m., it's great for an early brunch, and also for tourists visiting Gwangalli or office workers nearby who want a morning coffee. There's no parking space of its own, but with the Millak Sea Land Market public lot or the Taeyang Oneroom lot, the visit gets a lot easier at this Gwangalli brunch café, Famous Benny!

What's on the menu at Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch?
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch has a wide range of drinks, including coffee, tea, juice, matcha, non-coffee drinks, ades, gelato and smoothies, plus brunch dishes like salads, toast, Egg in Hell (shakshuka), soup, acai bowls and yogurt bowls. A great brunch spot in Gwangalli!

Seating and atmosphere: is it OK with kids or pets?
There's one 4-person table on the 1st floor, and the 2nd floor has more tables. High chairs are available, so it's easy to visit with small children, and I heard pets are allowed too.

There are lots of big windows throughout, and I loved the warm, cozy mood the natural light gives.

The self-bar has water, tissues, wet wipes, cutlery, small plates and even blankets, and staff tidy it constantly, so it stayed neat.

The 2-person seats right by the window, full of warm sunshine, seemed hugely popular too.
What we ordered and prices
This day at Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch we ordered the Egg in Hell for ₩15,000, matcha lemonade for ₩7,000 and drip coffee (Colombia) for ₩8,000. You order and pay on the 1st floor, then sit down and staff bring the food to you.
- Egg in Hell ₩15,000
- Matcha lemonade ₩7,000
- Drip coffee (Colombia) ₩8,000

Out of all the brunch dishes, the Egg in Hell and matcha lemonade appealed to me most, and since it's a coffee-famous place, I added a Colombian hand-drip too.

How is the Egg in Hell (shakshuka)? Extra sourdough is a must
Famous Benny's Egg in Hell comes generously loaded: a tomato sauce base with mozzarella, arugula, mixed seeds, 2 poached eggs and 2 pieces of sourdough. You can also add toppings like sourdough, poached egg, bacon, grilled mushrooms, avocado, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, so it seems fun to customize to your taste.
The sourdough, crisply baked in olive oil, was seriously good, so if you love bread, definitely add more!!! I only thought of it midway and went "oh no," and by the time I finished I was too full and felt so sorry for the leftover tomato sauce (sob).

What does the Colombian hand-drip at Famous Benny taste like?
Famous Benny's hand-drip lets you choose from 3 beans, and this day I picked Colombia (₩8,000). It had moderate acidity and a clean finish.
Famous Benny is great for brunch, but the coffee is good too, so I visit often. I heard the Colombian beans are known for bright floral notes of jasmine, nectarine and lime, and a clean, refined flavor. It felt right for starting or ending the day, a taste that puts you in a good mood automatically.

How to enjoy the Egg in Hell
Pop the soft, perfectly cooked poached egg and dip the sourdough in it along with the tomato sauce and mozzarella, and it's HEAVEN right here! I recommend Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch, a brunch spot near Gwangalli Beach that's great for coffee and brunch from early morning.
