Yangsan Oslo Park Western restaurant: napa cabbage Caesar, Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Restaurant Yangsan Oslo Park Branch is a Western restaurant on basement level 1 of Oslo Park in Mulgeum, Yangsan. On an early weekday evening, the writer and the kids sat at a sunlit window table and ordered four dishes: baby napa cabbage Caesar salad (16,000 won), kung pao chicken pilaf (22,000 won), basil pesto cream pasta (18,000 won) and truffle mushroom cream gnocchi (22,000 won), and all four were satisfying. Where is Bueokgan Restaurant Yangsan Oslo Park Branch?
Bueokgan Restaurant Yangsan Oslo Park Branch (부엌간레스토랑 양산오슬로파크점) is on the first basement floor of Oslo Park in Yangsan, right next to the escalator, so there's no wandering around looking for it. Bueokgan is a Western restaurant with branches in Busan, Gyeongnam, Jeonnam and more. I'd heard plenty about it, but this was my first visit.
The conclusion first: the atmosphere, the interior, the look of the food and the taste were all excellent. I went with my kids, and it was a really satisfying meal for them too.

Interior and sunny window seats at Bueokgan Oslo Park
The interior of the Oslo Park branch is very spacious and has a distinctive layout. It probably differs from branch to branch, but this one felt upscale and comfortable at the same time.

I visited on an early weekday evening, and the atmosphere at the window seats with the sunlight pouring in was so good. If you're looking for a Yangsan restaurant with a nice mood, I recommend Bueokgan.

The whole place has an upscale feel, and the tiny decorative props in every corner seemed to lift the mood another notch. They were pretty!

We settled into a comfortable table near the sunny window. Ordering was done on a tablet set up on the table.
Bueokgan Restaurant menu

On the left are salads and sides, and on the right is the pasta menu. I photographed the screen, so it isn't sharp, but zooming in should help.

Next are the rice, pizza and steak menus. As you can see, the choices are really varied and every one of them looks beautiful. There are plenty of dishes kids would love, too.

We ordered four dishes. Since it was our first visit, I went mostly for the best-sellers. Let me walk you through them one by one with photos.
How does the baby napa cabbage Caesar salad (16,000 won) taste?

The first dish out was the grilled napa cabbage Caesar salad. It had a really wide variety of ingredients, and it worked perfectly as a starter.

Nicely grilled napa cabbage was piled with snowflake cheese, a poached egg and plenty of crispy garlic flakes.

The cabbage kept its crunch, and the well-grilled, lightly smoky aroma made this salad so appealing. The mild, mayo-like sauce was great too. It beat my expectations by a wide margin.
Kung pao chicken pilaf (22,000 won): the rice is the star

Next was the kung pao chicken pilaf, topped with one big, well-cooked chicken leg.

Pilaf is a dish like fried rice. The chicken leg looks like a sure winner in the photo, and the actual taste was clean and good, too.

But what matters is that, chicken aside, the rice was just so good. The chicken leg is wonderful, but even if you set it aside, the rice alone was delicious. After just these two dishes, I already thought: this is definitely a great restaurant.
Basil pesto cream pasta (18,000 won) with plenty of sauce

My whole family loves basil pesto, so I ordered this one on purpose. As in the photo, the sauce is generous and pools around the pasta. The basil flavor wasn't overpowering but had a clear presence, and I really liked it.

The noodles were cooked just right, and it was the kind of cream pasta anyone would enjoy. I personally love cream pasta, and I liked that the sauce came out so generously.
Truffle mushroom cream gnocchi (22,000 won): my son's favorite

The last dish I'll show you is the truffle mushroom cream gnocchi, which came on the biggest plate. If you can't eat truffle, this one won't interest you, of course. As someone who loves truffle, it was right up my alley.

The aroma of truffle and whole black pepper was generous, and the cream sauce was really thick and rich. I'd guess most truffle lovers will like this rich style of cream, too.

The chewy gnocchi with plenty of mushrooms was so good. It was also the dish my son enjoyed most. He scraped the plate clean down to the last of the sauce.
Is Bueokgan Oslo Park in Yangsan worth a return visit?
Ordering four dishes at a Western restaurant on a first visit and being happy with all four isn't easy, I think, but at Bueokgan everything was delicious. It's a definite return visit for me, and I'm curious how good the other dishes we didn't try would be.
