It's a tteokgalbi specialty restaurant right in front of Lotte Outlet Dongbusan in Gijang, and it's such great value with about 20 kinds of unlimited-refill side dishes that I went back again. Shall we take a look together?

A Korean restaurant near Haedong Yonggungsa, Dongam Tteokgalbi is located on the 3rd floor of a large building. There's a spacious parking lot on the 1st floor.
From the entrance, it already feels like a traditional Korean set-meal restaurant. It's full of antique furniture and props, so there's fun in just looking around.
How long is the wait at 1pm on a holiday-season weekday?
Dongam Tteokgalbi has a spacious waiting area right at the entrance, so even if there's a wait, you can wait comfortably. I visited on a weekday at 1pm, but since it's holiday season with lots of people visiting Songjeong, Gijang, and Dongbusan, there were still plenty of customers.
Inside Dongam Tteokgalbi
Dongam Tteokgalbi is spacious and clean, so it feels hygienic, and it's filled with Korean-style props for a distinctive atmosphere. That day, a lot of families were dining out. It's also good for dates or group gatherings, with a spacious layout and roomy tables.
The self-bar: 20-plus free-refill side dishes and the new barley bibimbap
A must-visit near Lotte Outlet Dongbusan in Gijang, Dongam Tteokgalbi's self-serve corner is the second highlight after the tteokgalbi itself, with about 20 different kinds of food. From namul (seasoned vegetables) and kimchi to steamed egg, stir-fried squid, tofu kimchi, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), fried rice, jjajang (black bean sauce), seaweed soup, and even hangwa (traditional Korean sweets) for dessert.
And this time, barley bibimbap (mixed rice with barley) had been newly added! With unlimited barley rice and gangdoenjang, you can mix it with whatever side dishes you like. Fried rice, jjajang, sausages, tteokbokki, and steamed egg are all popular with kids, and as soon as they run out, the staff refill them quickly. A place where you can eat really well and generously for ₩10,000-20,000 per person!

A must-visit near Lotte Outlet Dongbusan in Gijang, Dongam Tteokgalbi's rice pot and crab doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) — the freshly cooked rice pot is fluffy with proper nurungji (scorched rice) too, and the rich, savory, spicy doenjang stew is loaded with big chunks of crab.
A must-visit near Lotte Outlet Dongbusan in Gijang, the side dishes and barley bibimbap brought over from the self-serve corner look so appetizing! Especially the steamed egg and the tofu with stir-fried kimchi are really delicious, so I always grab them, and the stir-fried squid was tasty too! Even we, who eat a lot, leave satisfied every time here.

A must-visit near Lotte Outlet Dongbusan in Gijang, once you order the main dishes — Dongam Tteokgalbi and 1++ Hanwoo Tteokgalbi — they grill them right away. Since it's grilled fresh on the spot, it can take a bit of time haha.
A must-visit near Haedong Yonggungsa, Dongam Tteokgalbi's sweet and savory basic Dongam Tteokgalbi versus the juicy 1++ Hanwoo Tteokgalbi. The Hanwoo (Korean beef) one is especially juicy and savory, so my chopsticks kept reaching for it! Dipping it in the special soy sauce and sesame oil sauce that come alongside makes it even better.
