Daegu beef grill after work: pork kimchi stew with rice, Gogi 9dan

Gogi 9dan Chimsan Direct Branch is a Korean beef grill restaurant at the Dongchimsan intersection in Chimsan-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu. After work, the blogger ordered a half plate of skirt steak (49,000 won), a half plate of flower rib (45,000 won) and the 17,000 won 9dan Set. Standout banchan included spicy marinated crab, and the pork kimchi stew led to an extra bowl of rice. With a large ground-level parking lot, partitioned seating and after-meal drinks and ice cups, Gogi 9dan Chimsan Direct Branch is a safe pick for family dinners or company get-togethers.

Hubaldae Dongdaegu Station Branch (후발대 동대구역점) is a Korean pork BBQ restaurant in an alley right in front of Dongdaegu Station in Daegu, where staff grill the meat from start to finish. Two friends ordered 2 servings each of Korean hwangto (yellow-clay) fresh pork neck and fresh pork belly at 14,900 won per 150g, enjoyed honey potato, basil and angelica wrap combos, and finished with the 6,900 won classic special fried rice. Geumsong Deokmi Haeridan-gil Branch is a dessert café on the second floor of a building on Haeridan-gil in Haeundae, Busan, a one-minute walk from Haeundae Station. On a Busan trip I tried the white peach tiramisu at 12,000 won, the Oreo cheesecake at 7,800 won and the mango granita at 8,500 won, plus an Americano and a Royal Vanilla Bean Latte made with beans you choose yourself. The dense, melt-in-your-mouth Oreo cheesecake was the favorite of the day at Geumsong Deokmi.

Smith's Farm is a farm-concept Western restaurant near Dongbaek Station in Haeundae, Busan. Travelling alone in Haeundae, the writer ordered grilled romaine for 11,000 won and the Sea! stone octopus steak for 29,800 won, and the staff sent out a Santa Garden ade on the house for showing up solo in the rain. Easy solo-dining service and the springy octopus made Smith's Farm the writer's first pick to revisit in Haeundae.
