Chicken rice-crust pho lunch in Cheongsapo: Cheongsapo Rice Noodles

Cheongsapo Rice Noodles Main Branch (Cheongsapo Ssal Guksu Bonjeom) is an Asian noodle restaurant on the Cheongsapo waterfront in Haeundae, Busan, where you eat pho with an ocean view. Three of us had lunch with beef pho and chicken rice-crust pho, plus the complimentary banh xeo and a side of fried rice, and the rice-crust broth with a whole chicken leg was the most filling bowl. Cheongsapo Rice Noodles sits close to Blue Line Park's Cheongsapo Station, so it works well as a lunch stop on a Cheongsapo trip.

Haeundae hair salon two-step clinic for dry summer hair: Drapore

Drapore Haeundae Jung-dong Branch is an appointment-only hair salon on the first floor of Central Medi Tower at 505 Jwadong-sunhwan-ro in Haeundae-gu, Busan, a new salon born out of Lee Kyung-min Pore in Cheongdam-dong. For hair left dry and frizzy by summer sun, stylist Yul at Drapore did a Hoyu shampoo scalp cleanse followed by the Hoyu clinic, which uses two separate treatment products. One session does not give you brand-new hair, but after the blow-dry the strands felt smoother and tangled less, so the Hoyu clinic is worth trying for dry hair.

Coastal dessert café in Gijang, Busan with mugwort cream latte: Deokmi

Deokmi Gijang Branch is an ocean-view dessert café standing right on the shore on Dongam Haean-gil in Gijang-gun, Busan. After a drive past Ananti Cove, the writer stopped in for Deokmi's signature Oreo cheesecake, a fig Earl Grey tiramisu, Bomnaeum (a house-made mugwort cream latte) and an Americano. With floor-to-ceiling windows framing the Gijang sea, Deokmi Gijang Branch is a calm place to pause during a coastal drive.
