This time I'm reviewing "Machai Jjamppong," located near Pyeonghwa Market in Sinam-dong, Daegu!

Where is Machai Jjamppong Sinam Branch in Daegu?
Machai Jjamppong Sinam Branch is on the 1st floor at 38 Ayang-ro, Dong-gu, Daegu, right across from Pyeonghwa Market on the main road. It's listed as about a 10-minute walk from Dongdaegu Station Exit 2, and about 8 minutes from Sincheon Station Exit 4.

📍 How to get there It's about a 10-minute walk from Dongdaegu Station Exit 2, and about 8 minutes from Sincheon Station Exit 4. Since it sits right on Ayang-ro across from Pyeonghwa Market, it wasn't hard to find at all, and it was a convenient spot to reach by public transit!
Inside: a wide hall for group dinners and solo tables

The interior was pretty spacious, so the seating felt roomy — it looked good for meals with friends or family, but also for group gatherings or company dinners haha.

And there were also tables set up nicely for eating alone!
How to order and how the 1,000 won cash discount works

Ordering was done via table order, and paying in cash gets you 1,000 won off all menu items, plus you can get a free drink for leaving a receipt review — worth keeping in mind.
This time I ordered the signature dongjuk baek jjamppong along with junghwa bibimbap and tangsuyuk. I was especially curious about the dongjuk baek jjamppong since it uses domestic dongjuk (a type of clam), giving the broth a different feel from regular jjamppong — apparently the umami from the clams blends really well with the seafood flavor!
There were also plenty of other Chinese menu items on offer, like brisket jjamppong, seafood jjamppong, and yakiudon, so it was easy to pick something to your taste!
Clam white jjamppong 10,000 won and junghwa bibimbap 9,500 won

First, the dongjuk baek jjamppong had quite a lot of clams in it, so you could really taste that seafood umami in the broth, and the broth itself was clean and light! Maybe because they use fresh dongjuk clams, the texture was springier than regular clams and the flavor coming from the clams felt richer too.
The noodles were also nice and chewy — not overcooked, cooked just right, so the noodle texture was excellent.

The junghwa bibimbap had probably the strongest wok-hei (smoky char flavor) of any junghwa bibimbap I've had so far, with plenty of seafood and sauce coating every bite — I ate it up happily.
Mini tangsuyuk for two, with the sauce poured over

The mini-size tangsuyuk was just the right amount for two people, and it came out fried a nice golden brown, looking delicious from the start! I used to be strictly team dip-it-yourself (chikmeok), but lately I've fallen for bufeok (pouring the sauce over) — pouring it on lets the seasoning soak into the meat and turn slightly moist, which tasted even better to me. It was tangsuyuk that needed no special explanation — just plain delicious haha.

The self-service corner and a coffee to finish
The self-service corner was set up neatly too, so it was easy to grab whatever I needed, and finishing off with a cup of coffee at the end made for a truly perfect meal haha ☕️🍜
