What kind of bar is Bacha Jeongja near Jeongja Station?
Bacha Jeongja (바차 정자점) is a Korean pub in an alley near Jeongja Station where you get bar and pocha (street tent pub) vibes in one. The snacks are good and the crowd is young, so it was busy even on a weekday evening.
First time at Jeongja Station for me.. why is Jeongja so hot!? It was a weekday evening and there were tons of people and outdoor drinking spots everywhere~ it's a much hotter neighborhood than I expected!! So here I am at Bacha, a Jeongja Station pub I'd heard was good.
- Hours: Daily 17:00 - 02:00

Bacha Jeongja outdoor tables and indoor atmosphere
Bacha Jeongja stands out with its blue lighting, and tables are set up outdoors too. The weather was nice this day, so the outdoor seats were already full.
Turn into the alley and you'll see Bacha with its blue lights. They've put tables outside too, but the weather was so nice that there were no outdoor seats left. (Heads up: the outdoor seats get cigarette smoke, but if that doesn't bother you, outdoors is recommended.)

Bacha is a Korean pub where you can enjoy a bar + pocha atmosphere together. That's why it's Bar! Cha! Inside, true to a hot Jeongja Station pub, it was packed with customers~ bustling. Hardly any two-person seats were left. Luckily there was a spot further inside, so we sat right away.

What's on the Bacha Jeongja menu?
The Bacha Jeongja menu runs from its signature seafood steam pot (bada-jjim) to hot pots, boiled pork (suyuk), seasoned dishes, chicken, pasta, dried snacks and desserts. You can do round one, two and three all in one place.
I came for round two, but everything looked so good that choosing was really hard,,

The crackers that came as the basic snack were salty and nutty.

Mozzarella chili shrimp: spicier than expected
Bacha Jeongja's mozzarella chili shrimp is hot chili shrimp topped with cheese, with french fries on the side. I was craving something spicy and rich, and it was exactly right!!

The shrimp were plump and tasty, and it's spicier than you'd think~ It was just right for me, but my companion said it was a little spicy, haha. Spicy-sweet chili shrimp!!

There's lots of cheese on top, so it stretches out~, and eating it with the cheese is even nuttier. Plus the fun of picking at the french fries! If you like tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), go for the Rochi shrimp; if not, I recommend the mozzarella chili shrimp!!
Grilled scallops at Bacha Jeongja: price and taste
Bacha Jeongja's grilled scallops (gari-bi hwaro-gui) are ₩11,000 for 2, so the price is on the higher side. I like scallops, and since I'd already had round one, I wanted a light snack, so I ordered them.

The scallops came out piping hot, and they're best warm, so I dug in right away. They were big, so I cut each into 4 pieces.

The taste was, well, obviously delicious, and they were soft and moist, great as a drinking snack.

They even gave us a cola as a freebie ><

What do the truffle cream cheese croquettes taste like?
Bacha Jeongja's truffle cream cheese croquette is a potato croquette you dip in truffle cream sauce. I'd been wanting a croquette and they happened to have one, and truffle cream cheese too!!!!

You can tell every dish is made by hand, which made it delicious. The coating isn't thick, the potato inside was soft, and the seasoning was spot on! Truffle cream cheese, no less, so the moment you dip it, it turns fancy. It tasted even better eating with my companion, and I recommend it as a Jeongja Station date spot.
Is the Kahlúa affogato a good bar dessert?
Bacha Jeongja's Kahlúa affogato comes with vanilla ice cream and Kahlúa (coffee liqueur) served separately, and you pour it over the ice cream yourself. I wanted something sweet for dessert, and I was curious, so I ordered it.

The vanilla ice cream is topped with Lotus biscuits and crumbled cookies, and I'll pour and try it. My first Kahlúa affogato, haha

Kahlúa has coffee aroma, sweetness, and a boozy scent. It tastes like a sweet affogato with two drops of alcohol. The coffee flavor was way stronger than I expected~~! The dessert was delicious too...

Is Bacha Jeongja a good date bar at Jeongja Station?
Bacha Jeongja has a great mood and great food, the kind of Jeongja Station pub you think of after work. I left very well fed.

This isn't food made carelessly. There's a reason popular places are popular.. I recommend it as a Jeongja Station date spot!!
