These days I prefer a place with a nice atmosphere where I can talk quietly over a noisy bar, haha. This time I visited Cheolgil Busanjip Beomgye Branch, an izakaya (Japanese-style pub) in Beomgye full of Japanese vibes. Every table has its own oden bar, so you can keep eating warm fish cake, and the cozy mood makes it a great Beomgye date bar. So here's my honest review of Cheolgil Busanjip Beomgye Branch~!

Cheolgil Busanjip Beomgye Branch is near Beomgye Station. The location was perfect for a date or a casual drink with friends! Being close to the station makes it easy to set a meeting, and it's no hassle to head somewhere else after a drink.
Interior and seating at Cheolgil Busanjip Beomgye Branch
Overall the place had a cozy, warm Japanese feel. The lighting was soft and calm, so it was a nice bar for quiet conversation. The dacchi (counter) seats are well done too, so it would be good for drinking solo!
The seats are divided by partitions, so the space feels roomy and it's a great bar for a date!

What I liked most about Cheolgil Busanjip Beomgye Branch is the oden bar at every table!! Usually when you order fish cake, a gas burner comes out and it's a hassle, but here the oden bar sits right on the table, which is so convenient, haha.
What did we order at Cheolgil Busanjip Beomgye Branch? The Seomyeon Set
I ordered the Seomyeon Set: a fish cake set for two plus aged salmon. It's an oden izakaya, so I definitely wanted fish cake, and I love salmon, so this set was perfect.
How does the oden broth taste?
The fish cake broth here was really clean and so delicious, ugh! You scoop it into a cup with a cute, stylish ladle and slurp it down. It has the refreshing taste of radish and the deep savoriness of fish cake broth, but it isn't harsh, so you keep drinking it! It was an endless loop of a sip of booze and a sip of broth, lol.
The handmade fish cakes in the set for two
For the fish cake set for two, we got mulddeok (fish cake skewer), a tofu pouch mochi bag, black konjac, a fish cake ball, curly fish cake, chili fish cake and spicy glass noodle fish cake. There are many kinds, and all of them are handmade, so they're really different from ordinary fish cake. You put them in the oden bar's water bath (I think?) and they stay piping hot, which I loved, haha.
The best one: the fish cake ball
The tastiest thing at Cheolgil Busanjip was the fish cake ball! If they sold it separately, I'd want to stock my freezer with it, it was that much my taste!! The fish flavor is rich and nutty, and the texture is so bouncy that it became the best fish cake of my life.
The spicy glass noodle fish cake was good too! It has a gentle heat, the fish cake is moist, and the bouncy, soft texture of the glass noodles was so nice, haha.
Aged salmon sashimi
The aged salmon sashimi in the Seomyeon Set was properly aged and chewy. There was no fishy smell at all and it wasn't too oily, so it was clean and I kept reaching for more.
The sauce was mild and tasty too, so salmon + sauce + onion or radish sprouts was a great combination.
How is the draft beer at Cheolgil Busanjip Beomgye Branch?
And at Cheolgil Busanjip Beomgye Branch... the draft beer is insane! See that creamy beer foam? I like dense, smooth beer like Japanese draft beer, and this was exactly that kind of beer! I don't drink much, so at an izakaya I usually have just one or two beers, but I lost control here... and had more than three, lol.
