Sundaetguk solo dining in Yongin: bone soup and blood sausage

Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Gorim branch is a sundaetguk (blood sausage soup) and ppyeodagwi haejangguk (pork bone soup) restaurant in Gorim-dong, Yongin, Gyeonggi. Visiting alone on a rainy day, the writer ordered chapsundae (glutinous blood sausage), a sampler of pyeonyuk (boiled sliced meat), and bone soup, and found tablet ordering with a phone stand, portable charger, sikhye (rice punch), and mouthwash all set up for solo diners. A solid Gorim-dong gukbap spot for eating alone without feeling self-conscious.

Rainy weekday café visit for river-gazing at Waltz and Dr. Mahn

Waltz and Dr. Mahn is an antique-style café on the Bukhan River in Namyangju, Gyeonggi. Visiting on a rainy weekday afternoon, the writer ordered Jamaica Blue Mountain and the signature Honor & Chevalier while watching the river through the window. Outdoor seating was closed due to rain, but the sound of rain against the old furniture made it feel like a perfect date spot near Seoul.
