Ingye-dong Chinese restaurant: Catch Table Peking duck, Gang's Duck

In short

Gang's Duck is a Chinese restaurant in Ingye-dong, Suwon, serving authentic local-style Chinese food built around Peking duck. After booking ahead on Catch Table, the writer ordered half a Peking duck, Hong Kong-style egg noodles and black vinegar cucumber salad, and the pancakes, shredded scallion and cucumber kept being refilled, so every last piece of duck was wrapped while still warm. Peking duck at Gang's Duck can sell out for same-day walk-ins, so a reservation is a must.

I went to Gang's Duck, a Suwon restaurant in Ingye-dong where you can enjoy proper Hong Kong-style Chinese food.

This is my review after thoroughly enjoying everything from crispy-skinned Peking duck to addictive egg noodles to the black vinegar cucumber salad that kept things fresh and balanced.

Location and reservation tips for Gang's Duck

Gang's Duck is located at 46-9 Hyowon-ro 249beon-gil, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, 1st floor. Hours are 11:00-23:00, and there's no parking. The signature dishes are Peking duck, Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, steamed rockfish, and red-braised rockfish.

The exterior has a clean black sign with a white English logo that catches your eye right away. It stands out in the area, making it easy to find.

At the entrance, a cute duck figurine and an atmospheric Chinese character menu board greet you, giving off serious Chinese restaurant vibes even before you step inside.

Inside, red Chinese-style lanterns and red neon signs fill the space, making it feel like you've stepped into Hong Kong or mainland China. With tidy black tables and chairs, it also seemed like a great spot for an Ingye-dong date or a Suwon group dinner.

Since I'd reserved ahead through Catch Table, my seat was neatly set up with my name on it. Apparently if you walk in without a same-day reservation, the Peking duck might already be sold out — so booking ahead is essential.

Table setting and kiosk ordering

My spot at Gang's Duck came with a small plate, a water glass, fried peanuts as a basic side, and the Peking duck fixings — sweet bean sauce, sugar, scallion strips and cucumber.

The fried peanuts weren't the typical Chinese-style ones — instead they were savory, salty roasted peanuts tuned to Korean tastes, and I kept reaching for more.

On the back of the info card, there were detailed instructions on how to combine and eat the Peking duck, helpful even for first-timers.

Ordering was done conveniently via table kiosk. The menu was really diverse, giving plenty of options whether you're looking for an Ingye-dong lunch or an evening drinking spot. We ordered our reserved half Peking duck, along with Hong Kong-style egg noodles and black vinegar cucumber salad.

Chef carving duck in the central hall

Right after we placed the order, the chef began prepping the duck in the central hall, which had been empty just moments earlier. Turns out he's a veteran chef who's worked at several famous hotels — you could tell from the way he handled the knife. Watching him carve so carefully in an open space built up the anticipation even more.

How were the Hong Kong-style egg noodles and black vinegar cucumber salad?

Gang's Duck's Hong Kong-style egg noodles are stir-fried quickly over high heat, so the vegetables kept their crunch. While the duck was being prepared, the egg noodles and cucumber salad arrived at the table first.

They weren't overly oily and had no greasiness at all — not too strong-flavored, but with an addictive umami that made you crave a drink.

The chewy noodle texture was excellent, satisfying enough to be a standalone dish.

Black vinegar cucumber salad with wood ear mushrooms and nuts

The black vinegar cucumber salad kept its crunch, not soft at all. The sweet-and-sour black vinegar sauce paired well with the savory nuts, and especially the wood ear mushrooms soaked in sauce alongside the cucumber — this was the best side dish for cutting through the richness of Chinese food.

The half Peking duck spread

Finally, the star of the day — Peking duck — was added, completing a generous full spread.

Half Peking duck with crispy roasted skin

Gang's Duck's Peking duck had truly crispy skin, and the meat inside was lean without excess fat while still keeping its juiciness.

Scallion strips, cucumber, sweet sauce and sugar were all neatly prepared to go alongside.

The pancakes came thoughtfully portioned in a steamer so they'd stay warm. Plus, since the pancakes, scallions and cucumber were all refillable, we could eat as much as we wanted without worry — a real advantage.

Endless pancake refills and wrap combos

Peking duck skin dipped in sugar

First, I dipped a well-crisped piece of duck skin in sugar — the sweetness and savoriness crackling in my mouth was pure bliss.

Then I layered scallion strips, cucumber and lean duck meat onto a warm pancake, added the sweet and savory sauce, and wrapped it up tight.

The combination of crunchy vegetables, chewy pancake and juicy duck meat filled my mouth with rich flavor.

Right as we started running low on pancakes, the staff kindly refilled them, so we could wrap even the very last piece of meat while it was still warm. The cucumber and scallion strips were also generously refilled, keeping everything fresh to the end.

Fried duck bones and fried duck leg — how strong are the spices?

Seasoned fried Peking duck bone pieces

After the Peking duck is prepared, Gang's Duck fries the leftover bone parts crispy and brings them out seasoned Chinese-salty style — a real treat. Chinese spices are usually pretty strong, which can be a concern, but here it wasn't overwhelming.

Reactions to the spices might vary a bit depending on preference, but for someone who personally loves Chinese food, it was a perfect fit for me. It was a little salty and slightly dry from being fried, but the crispiness and texture worked together to make it an addictive drinking snack that practically calls for beer.

The fried duck leg was great to pick up and eat with one hand. Its chewy, springy fried texture, with the salty seasoning baked in, made it the perfect final snack.

Origin labeling and store hygiene

Checking the origin labeling board at Gang's Duck's kiosk, the main ingredients — duck, eggs, pork — were all labeled as domestic, so I could eat with confidence.

The path to the restroom was tidy, and the restroom itself was kept very clean, making it a comfortable place to use.

One side of the restaurant displayed a variety of Chinese liquors, and a 2026 Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation award for excellence in the food service business was also on display, boosting its credibility as an Ingye-dong and Suwon City Hall favorite.

Overall review and recommendation points

Overall review: This is a place where you can properly enjoy crispy-outside, juicy-inside Peking duck through an approachable half-portion, along with unlimited pancake refills. In an atmosphere that feels distinctly Hong Kong, the addictive egg noodles and refreshing black vinegar cucumber salad round out a perfect combination, making it a very satisfying choice for an Ingye-dong bar outing or date course.

  • Perfect Peking duck & unlimited refill convenience: crispy-skinned, juicy Peking duck paired with endlessly refilled warm pancakes, scallion strips and cucumber for wrapping as much as you like.
  • Hotel-trained veteran chef's skill: taste premium Peking duck crafted with the distinctive touch and technique of a chef who's worked across several famous hotels.
  • Exotic atmosphere & trustworthy sourcing: emotive interior that feels like Hong Kong, combined with the reliability of domestically sourced duck, makes it ideal for enjoying Chinese food in Suwon.

Compared to the Peking duck I once had in mainland China, this was every bit as good — I'm definitely planning to come back soon for another round.
